So thankful to have the time to be able to come to Florida and visit my sister.

It hasn't hit 70 yet
But that hasn't slowed us down

We've walked the beach🌊🌊
Worked out everyday together πŸ’ͺ
Hit up multiple thrift storesπŸ’—
And had some great sister conversations.

Life is good.πŸ’—

What I've been up to this week.

I workout 6 days a week..because it makes me feel good!

Not pictured..my running workout with a friend

Workouts shouldn't be punishment. Find something you enjoy doing that you can stay consistent.

Proverbs 16:9
The mind of a person plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Do you do New Years Resolutions?

I admit..sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Truthfully, I reset my life several times throughout the year, as I come across different areas of my life that I realize I need to focus on.

Setting goals and intentions for the year is worth doing. It helps us to focus our mind and energy.

However, we need to make sure that we leave margin in our lives. We need to be available to pivot when the Lord directs us onto a path we had not intended to go.

Entering 2022 with intention

I have spent a quiet day at home. I wanted to ring in this year differently.

I spent time in prayer first
For my family
Friends
Church leaders in our community
Christians in our community
Our Nation

Then I spent extra time reading his word and soaking it in. (Being an almost empty nester brings more time for this! 😁)

The past two years have been heavy in the world. Choas, anger, division, violence, deception. I realized that I have relied on things of this world too much.

I have decided that my intention this year is to spend more time looking up to the Lord for my joy, my strength, my peace.

He knows what the future holds and so
I will be intentional about daily putting my faith and trust in him.

I had tech issues this morning trying to sign in to my virtual workout app.

It wasn't til after supper that I realized I had been trying to sign in with the wrong email account! πŸ™„πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I was tempted to skip...but for real... I'm only on day 3 and didn't want to skip on myself. πŸ‘ŒSince it was cardio day...and a camper is NOT for jumpin....I took my butt outside and did my workout before it got dark!πŸ‘Š

Was it perfect....nope!
Did I puke...Nope!πŸ˜‚
Am I happy that I didn't quit on myself on day 3? πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―

So glad I could bring my workouts with me so I can stay on track!

Day 2 of an 80 Day program

Can I admit something?

The last time I did this program...

*I was teaching 15 fitness classes per week
*I had sprained my mcl and movement of my knee was painful....for 6 to 8 weeks
*My body was warning me that I was doing too much and that adrenal fatigue was coming.

I felt defeated - I should be able to push hard
I felt defensive - denying my need to rest
I felt depressed - comparing myself to others who seemed to have it all together

I remember hating the workouts but forcing myself to "push through", because isn't that the message we hear all the time?πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm here to tell you that there are times in your life you should NOT push through. What I should have done...was rested. WHY do we feel ashamed to admit we need to rest?! (or is that just me).

Today.... I'm on day 2.

*Focusing on 1 workout per day
* Body is healed and feeling good
*Mind is in a waaay better place

I want to do a "do over" of this program now that I'm in a better place. And so far... I'm loving it!😁

I never thought I would leave teaching fitness classes until I was at least 60.

Strange how things change...

Last Friday I retired after 27 years of teaching fitness classes at Spectrum Pennock Health and Wellness Center.

I spent almost a year thinking about leaving and then I prayed over my decision for awhile A few weeks ago I felt like God was telling me it's time to close that Chapter of my life.

I haven't yet decided where I will go from here.Β  I have options and ideas written down to pray over.Β  I decided to give myself the month of October to be quiet, listen, and catch up on some projects.

One concern I had before quitting was wanting to be sure I didn't waste this month.Β  So I set several alarms on my phone to help me stay in good habits.

6:30 get up
7:00 Do Bible study
8:00 Workout
9:00 Shower, eat and get dressed
10 - 12Β  Check in to my online fitness group. Refocus on my online business

The rest of the days will be for general cleaning, finishing home projects and some volunteer work.

Change can be scary....especially after 27 years. I'm choosing to dare to believe I can be something other than I have been.πŸ’—

Have you made a big change in your life?Β  Do you have any advice that may help me?
