Kim Reddish, COO/CNO, and Suzanne Wilson, Executive Director, spoke with WDAM about the exciting expansion underway at Forrest General Hospital's Emergency Department. This is a milestone moment for our community and we are proud to share what's ahead for emergency care in South Mississippi!

Forrest General Hospital serves 19 surrounding counties and thousands of patients every year.

The entrance has looked the same for many of them for many years.

Tricia Peterson, RN is an ICU nurse at Forrest General Hospital who received the DAISY Award for going above and beyond to bring joy to a patient during the Christmas season. When she noticed a long-term ICU patient light up at the sound of Christmas music, she bought her a Saints-themed Christmas tree, brought in her guitar, and played Christmas carols at the bedside.

This wasn't a one-time gesture. For Tricia, showing up for her patients in ways that go beyond medicine is simply part of who she is.

Her compassion, creativity, and genuine love for her patients bring a little piece of home to even the most difficult moments.

Forrest Health and the American Heart Association brought CPR education to our community, and in just 30 minutes, attendees walked away with lifesaving tips and the knowledge to respond when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who came out and took that step toward being CPR ready. You never know when knowing this could make all the difference.

Kravian Gillum, RN has been with Forrest Health for eight months and has already made a lasting impression. She received the We CARE Award for her unwavering dedication during one of the most challenging periods her unit has faced. Despite significant staffing shortages, she never complained, never wavered, and never stopped showing up for her patients with professionalism, compassion, and a positive attitude.

Her hard work is being seen, and she is more than deserving of this recognition.
