These runes are made from Gamble Oak, a wood traditionally used for crafting. The original branch was a natural fall found on a mountainside in Boulder Colorado. Oak is synonymous with Thor in the Norse mythology, and has been recognized by many cultures as a bridge between earth and sky or human and divine. It represents resilience, wisdom, stability, and shielding from negative energy.
The runes were worked by hand using ancient crafting techniques as much as possible while still allowing for a high quality finish. A metal hand saw was used to allow for clean, thin, straight cuts, and an electric wood burner was used to ensure crisp and clear rune markings. However they were individually sanded by hand using a piece of sandstone and the runes sumbols themselves were carved with a knife forged by hand by a close family member.
To cure the wood; I mixed a divination oil using a Jojoba carrier oil base, cornflower and calendula petals, sandlewood oil, and peppermint.
Jojoba oil is used for purification and clarity.
Cornflower is recognized for its ability to enchance psychic connections, cleanse negative energy, and promote clarity.
Calendula was used to enhance clairvoyance, luck, and positive energy.
The scent of Sandlewood carried by the concentrated oil promotes emotional calm and tranquility, soothing the senses.
In contrast, the scent of the Peppermint oil has been used for millennia to induce prophetic visions and amplify clairvoyant abilities.
The oil and herb mix was place with the runes inside a sealed glass jar and was set out under the moon at night, and kept on a dark cabinet during the day, for 30 days leading up to the Lunar Eclipse on the night of October 28th.
The Moon has many spiritual qualities, including manifestation and growth; as well as illumination, insight, and guidance. All perfect aspects to instill into a set of runes. The eclipse itself is commonly used in spiritual practices to reveal hidden knowl dhe and set intentions.
This accumulation of oils and herbs set under the moon leading up to the eclipse assisted in setting strong energetic intention for the wood chips to become tools for clear insight and psychic connection to the divine energy, while also being a source of peace, positivity, and grounding.
Finally, I preformed a ritual in which each rune was carved, burned, empowered, and bonded to my own energy. I spoke the true meaning and purpose of each rune individually before, during, and after it was set into the wood, and then again all together upon completion of the final rune.
The journey to create these Runes took approximately 24 hours of work over the course of a month and a half. It showcases an extremely thorough level of craftsmanship and energetic intention in line with ancient practices. The love and attention to detail is what you can expect from all rune sets crafted by Path of Jodin.
This is my personal set that I use for all professional readings. A custom set requested of this design level and quality would be priced at $150 and include a handsewn cloth or leather carrying bag. Less intensive rune sets can be crafted for as little as $50 without a bag, or $60 with a bag.
