4 tips for embracing a low-tox holiday season:

🎄Your holiday season doesn’t need MORE products. It needs a few intentional, healthier rhythms. And most of them won’t cost you a dime.

If you’ve been wanting to make your home and holiday gatherings a little healthier this year, consider this your reminder that low-tox living doesn’t have to be expensive, complicated, or another thing on your already overflowing to-do list.

🥒 1. Bring something nourishing to the holiday gathering. Be the one who shows up with a beautiful veggie platter, fresh fruit, or grilled chicken with a delicious homemade dip (I like Greek yogurt with Bolthouse ranch and some lemon juice). You’ll have something satisfying

☀️ 2. Step outside for morning light. Even five to ten minutes outdoors can help support your circadian rhythm. Bonus points for catching the sunrise and opening those windows for a little fresh air (hello, “Lüften” that we covered last episode!).

🕯️ 3. Rethink those holiday candles. I know, I know. There’s nothing quite like a cozy home filled with the scents of Christmas! And you CAN have them, but we just need to ditch those with unnecessary chemicals and choose better. Just comment CANDLE and I’ll send you my favs! Skip the synthetic fragrances and create that nostalgic Christmas aroma with better options.

🤍 4. Make WHITE SPACE on your calendar. Perhaps the most important swap of all. You don’t have to attend every gathering, volunteer for every activity, or fill every weekend with holiday festivities. Leave room for slow mornings, family dinners, board games by the fire, reading by the Christmas tree, and simply being together.

Because a healthier home isn’t just about what we remove from our cupboards. It’s also about what we make room for in our lives. And this Christmas, I’m choosing more of what matters and less of what doesn’t. ❤️

Which of these four swaps does your family need most this season? What would you add?Tell me below! 👇

Wow. This audio really made me stop and think. 🥹

I think there’s something unique about our generation. We grew up right alongside social media. From MySpace to Facebook to Instagram, we slowly got used to sharing our lives online.

And somewhere along the way, I think our natural instinct shifted.

We take a beautiful picture, have an amazing experience, make something we’re proud of, or reach a milestone, and our first thought is often, “I should post this!”

Instead of, “I can’t wait to tell my husband about this.” Or call a friend. Or share it with the people sitting around our kitchen table.

We’ve become so accustomed to seeking that little hit of dopamine online that sometimes I wonder if we’ve forgotten how meaningful it is to simply share life with the people closest to us.

And listen, I’m not saying social media is bad. Not at all!

I’ve built an incredible community here, and I’m genuinely grateful for the friendships, connections, and opportunities that have come from it.

I also believe social media can be a wonderful way to share the gifts, passions, and resources God has entrusted to us.

For example, my friends and family already know me as the elderberry lady. 😂 But there are so many more families I’d love to introduce to this incredible resource that helps keep kids out of the doctor’s office! Social media allows me to reach people I otherwise never could.

I just don’t want the people closest to me to get the leftovers of a life I’ve already shared with everyone else.

I want to be more intentional about sharing the ordinary, beautiful moments with my family, my friends, my neighbors, and my little village FIRST.

And then use this space to share the things that might genuinely encourage, educate, or serve someone beyond that circle.

Maybe the answer isn’t to stop sharing our lives.

Maybe it’s to remember who we want to share them with first. 🤎

I’m curious, have you noticed this shift in yourself, too?

What if creating a healthier home didn’t require changing everything, but simply changing one thing at a time? 🌿

There’s a Japanese concept called Kaizen, and I think it’s such a beautiful reminder for those of us trying to be more intentional about what we bring into our homes.

Kaizen refers to small improvements, made consistently over time, can lead to meaningful results.

This is week THREE of our simple low-tox swaps series! We’ve talked about cleaner water, fresher indoor air, and now we’re heading into the kitchen. 🍓

Because here’s the thing: eating healthier doesn’t have to mean buying everything organic, spending a fortune at the grocery store, or sourcing every ingredient from a local farm.

Maybe this week you:

🍓 Choose organic for one fruit your family eats regularly.

🥚 Find a local farmer for your eggs.

🥕 Make one more meal from scratch using whole-food ingredients.

🛒 Start reading ingredient labels and choosing foods with simpler ingredient lists.

That’s it. One intentional improvement.

And next week? Maybe you make another.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in doing everything right that we forget how much good can come from simply doing the next right thing.

Start where you are, use what you have, and make the next better choice. 🤎

If you’ve been wanting to make your home a little healthier but don’t know where to begin, I’ve put together a guide full of practical low-tox swaps for every budget.

Before you spend another $500 trying to create a healthier home, try opening your windows. 🍂

Yes, really. Sometimes the simplest low-tox swaps are the ones that cost absolutely nothing.

In Germany, there’s a long-standing household practice called Lüften (pronounced LUF-ten), and I think we could learn a little something from it.

The idea is beautifully simple: open your windows wide, ideally on opposite sides of your home, for 5-10 minutes to allow fresh outdoor air to circulate and stale indoor air to escape.

Why does it matter?

Because the air inside our homes can accumulate pollutants from cooking, cleaning products, synthetic fragrances, furnishings, and everyday living.

When outdoor air quality is good, a little intentional ventilation can help dilute those indoor pollutants.

And while I absolutely believe a quality air purifier can have its place, l also believe we have made creating a healthier home feel far more expensive and complicated than it needs to be.

You do not need to replace everything you own, buy every gadget an influencer recommends, or spend thousands of dollars to begin.

Start with what you have. Make thoughtful changes as you’re able. And remember that stewardship isn’t about having the most expensive things. It’s about caring well for what we’ve been given.🤎

That’s exactly why I created my Beginner’s Guide to Low-Tox Living, tilled with simple, practical swaps and GOOD, BETTER & BEST options for every budget.
