As a Woman Veteran myself, I find this to be very important to share

Why It’s “Women Veterans Recognition Day” – Not “Women Veterans Day”

On June 12th, we celebrate women Veterans and honor their incredible contributions, but it’s important to recognize the true meaning of the date and its official name.

June 12, 1948 marked a turning point in history: The signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act granted women the right to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces. That’s why we honor Women Veterans Recognition Day.

Today, and every day, let’s celebrate service, remember history, and continue to uplift stories.

Today, many of us will enjoy time with family, rest, barbecues, and long weekends.

But Memorial Day is also a day of remembrance.

As a massage therapist, I spend my time helping people heal, recover, feel safe, and reconnect with themselves.

Today feels like a reminder that peace, comfort, and even ordinary moments are possible because others sacrificed theirs.

To all who served - and especially those who never made it home - thank you.

Today I choose to spend time with my family, Honoring and Remembering all those who fought for our Freedoms. Remembering all who did not make home, and those who did but never the same. My Brothers & Sisters in Arms, thank you for your sacrifice.
