Never place needles or other sharps loose in regular trash or recycling. Use an approved sharps container and bring it to an authorized sharps/medical waste disposal location according to your local rules, such as a hospital/medical facility that accepts sharps, pharmacy with a sharps take back program, or hazardous waste collection site.
