One thing I hope people know about me is this…
I’ve truly poured my heart and soul into this business.
This all started after our twins spent time in the NICU. It completely changed our perspective on so many things, especially what we were bringing into our home and using around our family. That season of our lives sparked something in us, and before we knew it, this little dream started growing.
For those who don’t know us, my husband and I both work full-time jobs. Everything you see from 4C’s Porch Pantry happens after work, late at night, on weekends, or whenever we can squeeze in a few extra minutes. It’s a lot of long nights, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
I take so much pride in every product that leaves our home. When I say we don’t use premade bases, I mean it. We start from scratch, research every ingredient, test, tweak, and make sure it’s something we’d confidently use on our own family.
Take our Skeeter Spray for example… I literally count every single drop of essential oil that goes into every bottle. 😅 There are around 170 drops of essential oils in each bottle. That’s the kind of care that goes into what we make.
Another passion of mine is baking. If you’ve been lucky enough to catch me on one of my baking days, thank you for supporting that side of my business too. ❤️ Between working full-time, raising four kids, and running this business, I don’t get to bake nearly as much as I’d like. But there is just something about coating my kitchen in flour, pulling fresh bread or cinnamon rolls out of the oven, and seeing people genuinely excited to eat something I made. Honestly… half the battle is keeping my own family from eating customer orders before they leave the house. 😂
One thing that has become really important to me is helping people understand the difference between products made with real essential oils and products that simply sound natural. Unfortunately, there are a lot of labels that can be confusing, and that makes it harder for businesses who are truly trying to be transparent.
For example, if you ever see something labeled as “100% pure essential oils” with a scent like Banana Bread… ask questions. 😊 Essential oils don’t smell like baked goods. The only fruit essential oils you’re going to find are citrus oils like orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, and similar fruits.
Blueberry is another good example. You can absolutely buy blueberry seed oil, but that’s completely different from an essential oil—and it doesn’t smell like fresh blueberries. There isn’t a true blueberry essential oil.
I don’t say any of this to criticize anyone. I say it because I think people deserve to know what they’re buying.
Whether you ever purchase a single thing from me or not, my inbox is always open. If you have questions about ingredients, essential oils, or you’re looking for a more natural option for something, ask me! I genuinely enjoy learning, researching, and sharing what I’ve found.
Need help with sore muscles? There are natural ingredients that have been used for years. Castor oil, black pepper, and cayenne are a great example. 😉
My goal has never been to convince everyone to buy from us. It’s simply to help people understand they have options and to help people make informed choices.
If you take nothing away from this post except to ask a few more questions about the products you’re using, that’s okay with me. And if you’re just curious about cleaner, plant-based alternatives, I’m always happy to help. 🤍
