🚍 Your voice can help improve transportation for families across Region 9!

Getting to prenatal, postpartum, and infant care shouldn’t be a barrier. We’re gathering community feedback to better understand transportation challenges and identify solutions that improve access to care throughout Region 9.

📝 The survey takes just 5–7 minutes to complete, and your input will help shape future programs, partnerships, and advocacy efforts.

📍Whether you’ve experienced transportation challenges yourself or support families in your community, we want to hear from you!

The postpartum period is a time of significant transition - but it can also be a time when serious health concerns emerge.

Join us for “Critical Warning Signs in Postpartum Care,” a Great Lakes Breastfeeding Webinar focused on recognizing urgent maternal warning signs and supporting timely intervention when symptoms arise. As many families experience limited contact with healthcare providers after birth, doulas, home visitors, and community-based professionals are uniquely positioned to identify concerns, advocate for care, and help improve maternal health outcomes.

Together, we'll explore practical strategies for recognizing warning signs, responding appropriately in home and community settings, and supporting families in accessing the care they need.

✨ Spotlight Sunday: Keana Lofton of KENDI Doula & Breastfeeding Support✨

After traveling to roughly 30 countries and living everywhere from Australia to Los Angeles, Keana Lofton found her way back home to Adrian, and brought a whole new kind of care with her.

Keana got into birth work in 2019, but everything shifted when she had her own son in 2021. A home birth supported by midwives, with her husband deeply involved every step of the way, showed her what real birth and postpartum support could feel like. She started Kendi so other Lenawee County families could have that same experience.

Here's what one review said:

"I did not know I needed this, but it really helped me, and I feel so good" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🔹 Birth and doula support
🔹 Postpartum care
🔹 Community breastfeeding and lactation support
🔹 Medicaid accepted, most families don't know that yet
