As a midwife, it is an honor to witness the incredible power of birthing people. Every birth path is unique, and sometimes, the truest act of love and strength is navigating a change in the plan.

This morning, I had the privilege of supporting an absolute warrior of a mother. We started her journey at home, where she gave absolutely *everything* she had. She worked so incredibly hard, riding every wave with a level of stamina and determination that left me in complete awe.

When the labor required us to pivot and transfer to the hospital, her strength didn’t waver, it just shifted. Ultimately, her sweet baby arrived via C-section, and it was a beautiful, sacred birth.
To this incredible mama: I am so endlessly proud of you. A C-section birth *is* birth. You surrendered to what your body and your baby needed, and you carried yourself with such grace through it all. Your strength is monumental, and your baby is so lucky to have you as their mother.

Thank you to the wonderful hospital team who collaborated with us to bring this miracle safely into the world. 💚

Welcome to the world, sweet boy! 💚👶🏼

Birth rarely goes according to a perfect script, but it always reveals exactly how powerful parents can be.

For hours, these two worked so hard, laboring beautifully, safely, and peacefully at home. They met every wave with so much grace, strength, and deep connection, getting right up to the very end of the marathon.

But birth always has its own timeline and this little guy had his own plan. Right at the finish line, he surprised everyone by showing us he was breech.

With incredible intuition, bravery, and selflessness, his parents pivoted. They made the tough but courageous decision to transfer to the hospital for a surgical birth, putting their baby’s safety above everything else.
It wasn't the original plan, but it was a beautiful birth because it was fueled by pure love. We are so thrilled to share that mom, dad, and baby boy are all healthy, happy, and settling into their new chapter.

True bravery isn't just sticking to a plan; it’s knowing when to pivot for the ones you love. Welcome to the world, little one! You are so fiercely protected and loved. 💚🌲

Sunset and New Beginnings!
As the evening sun began to dip below the horizon, a new light entered the world. There is a specific kind of magic that happens when the day winds down and a family’s life is forever changed in the comfort of their own home as a beautiful baby boy was born this evening. He transitioned into the world with such grace, arriving peacefully in the warmth of the birth pool. The atmosphere was the perfect blend of strength and serenity as the evening shadows filled the room.

Midwifery is rarely a solo journey, and tonight was a beautiful testament to that. I am profoundly grateful to my fellow midwife who stepped in at a moment's notice to provide essential support.
When the call goes out and a colleague answers without hesitation, it reminds me of the incredible bond we share in this profession. Thank you for your skilled hands and your unwavering presence during those final, powerful moments.

There is something truly sacred about being invited back into a family’s story for the arrival of their second baby. Today, I had the honor of witnessing a beautiful home birth as this sweet family welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world.

One of the most moving parts of this journey is seeing the shift in family dynamics. Watching big brother meet his new sibling for the very first time—that mix of curiosity, gentleness, and pure wonder—is a reminder of why I love what I do. It’s those quiet, core-memory moments that stay with you long after the birth is over.

I also want to share a massive note of gratitude for my incredible community. As I continue to navigate recovery from my shoulder surgery, I’ve had to rely on my village more than usual. To the two wonderful midwives, Bianca Cothen and Noel Fernandez who stepped in to be my hands and support me during this birth: thank you. Your skill, heart, and teamwork allowed me to be present for this family while I heal, and I am so grateful for your partnership.

This morning was nothing short of beautiful. 🌲💗

I had the honor of welcoming this family’s FIFTH baby earthside, a perfect 8 lb 2 oz baby girl, born gently into the water.

This mama worked so hard. Labor was steady, powerful, and asked everything of her… and she rose to meet it with such strength and focus. Water birth always carries a special kind of calm, but make no mistake, it is real, raw, incredible work. And she did it.

One of the most touching parts? Her proud siblings were there to witness their baby sister’s arrival. Watching their faces light up as she was lifted from the water is a moment I won’t soon forget. What a gift for them to see their mother’s strength and the beauty of birth firsthand.

So proud of this amazing mama. So grateful to be trusted again with another chapter of their story. Welcome to the world, sweet girl. 💕

There is something so incredibly special about being invited back to welcome another baby for a family. 💚
This morning, I had the honor of catching this sweet family’s SECOND baby — a beautiful redheaded baby girl with the most perfect little cry and a head full of fiery hair. ❤️🔥

Watching parents step into their confidence the second time around is such a gift. Mom was strong, steady, and absolutely amazing. Dad was calm and present. And now their family feels beautifully complete with this precious little sister in their arms.

Thank you for trusting me again with such a sacred moment. It never gets old. It is never “just another birth.” It is always a miracle.

There is something so incredibly special about being invited back into a family’s most sacred space. 🥰

I am over the moon to welcome this beautiful baby girl, born peacefully into the water at home this morning. She is baby number four for this wonderful family, and the second tiny human I’ve had the honor of catching for them.
Watching a family grow, evolve, and trust the process of birth time and time again is the greatest gift of this work.

My heart is full! Congratulations to the whole crew on your newest addition. 🌲💚🌲

A quick labor and a beautiful arrival 💗
This sweet baby girl decided she was ready and made her entrance swiftly and smoothly, weighing a perfect 7 lbs 10 oz. There’s something extra special about a fast labor that’s filled with calm, strength, and trust in the process.

Even more special—two very proud grandparents were there to witness her first moments earthside, soaking in the joy and love that filled the room.

Congratulations to this amazing family on the birth of your beautiful daughter. It was an honor to be part of such a memorable and love-filled day 🌲💚🌲

Being invited to attend a woman’s first birth is always an honor 💚🌲💚

Last night, after a lot of hard work, this strong mama welcomed her baby boy earthside.

Birth asked a little extra of both of us — a shoulder dystocia required focused, skilled hands and calm teamwork — and together, we did exactly what was needed. I worked hard to get this baby safely into his mama’s arms, and she never stopped digging deep.
Everyone is healthy, stable, and snuggling 💚

This is an important reminder that while emergencies can happen at home births, they are often anticipated, recognized quickly, and managed effectively by a trained midwife — right where the family is.

So incredibly proud of this mama, her strength, her trust, and her beautiful beginning into motherhood. What a way to meet your first baby 💚🌲💚
