Therapy and Co. Co-Creating a Life Lived With Ease
Houston's Mental Health, Wellness and Relationship Therapy Center

03/31/2026

For generations, women were taught to survive.
More women today are learning they also deserve to heal.

As we reflect on Women’s History Month, it’s worth honoring both the resilience of the women who came before us and the courage it takes to care for your own mental health today.

Therapy can be a space to pause and ask:

What do I need?
What do I feel?
What parts of my story deserve care, too?

Your healing doesn’t take away from the strength of the women who came before you.

Healing is part of the legacy too.

✨ Celebrating a Remarkable Woman ✨

We are incredibly proud to share that Therapy and Co’s very own co-owner, Corissa Barrow, was recently nominated by CW39 as a Remarkable Woman—and if you know her, you know this recognition couldn’t be more deserved.

Corissa’s impact begins in the therapy room, where she shows up every day with compassion, insight, and an unwavering commitment to helping clients heal, grow, and reclaim their lives. Her work as a therapist is deeply meaningful, creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward.

But her dedication doesn’t stop there. While continuing to serve her clients and lead our team, Corissa is also working toward completing her PhD, further deepening her expertise and commitment to advancing the mental health field.

She is also the founder of The Mind Project, a nonprofit focused on expanding access to mental health resources and education in the community. Through this work and her ongoing community initiatives, Corissa continues to give back in powerful ways—advocating for mental health awareness and creating opportunities for support where it’s needed most.

Her leadership, passion, and heart inspire all of us every day.

We are proud. We are grateful. And we are truly in awe of the work she continues to do. 💫

Join us in celebrating Corissa and this well-deserved recognition! 👏

Starting therapy can feel intimidating — especially if you don’t know what to expect.

You may wait because of the thought therapy was only for crisis. Or that it would just be “venting.”

In reality, therapy is a structured, thoughtful process. It’s where patterns become clearer, nervous systems soften, and new ways of relating begin to feel possible.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.
Curiosity is enough.

If you’ve been wondering what therapy is actually like, we hope this offers some clarity.

We’re here when you’re ready. 🤎 Book your free 15-minute consultation today, link in bio.

Meet John ✨

Some things are hard to put into words—and even harder to carry alone.

John works with individuals and couples navigating grief, relational wounds, and the quiet weight of life transitions. He creates space to slow down, go deeper, and make sense of what’s been hard to name.

Thoughtful. Grounded. Unhurried.

Therapy with John isn’t about fixing your story—it’s about finally understanding it. 🤍

If love feels anxious, your body is trying to tell you something.

Butterflies aren’t always chemistry.
Sometimes they’re cortisol.

We were taught that intensity = passion.
But hyper-awareness, overthinking, waiting for a text, rehearsing conversations in your head?

That’s not romance.
That’s your nervous system scanning for safety.

Healthy love doesn’t spike you.
It settles you.

It doesn’t make you perform.
It lets you rest.

If you feel constantly on edge in your relationship, it’s not because you’re “too much.”
It might be because your body doesn’t feel secure.

And your body is usually right.

✨ Does your love feel calming… or activating?

Meet Karina ✨

Healing happens in the heart, the body, and the spaces between our stories.

Karina understands that your journey is uniquely yours—shaped by culture, family, and the beautiful complexity of who you are. Whether you’re navigating body image, eating concerns, or the tender process of finding home between worlds, she’s here to walk alongside you.
With warmth and without judgment, Karina creates a space where all parts of you are welcome. Using DBT skills and relational care, she helps you build the inner compass you’ve always had—guiding you toward stability, self-trust, and deep compassion for yourself.
This is therapy that sees you fully. That honors your roots while nurturing your growth. That believes healing happens not just in your mind, but in your whole, beautiful self.
You belong here. Your story matters. Your healing is possible. 💙

Ready to take the next step? Karina is accepting new clients.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about flowers and dates — it’s about how safe love feels. 💌

Secure attachment isn’t perfect love. It’s love where you can be human, communicate, set boundaries, and still feel chosen.

If your relationship feels calm, consistent, and emotionally safe — that’s security.
If it feels confusing, anxious, or exhausting — your nervous system may be asking for something healthier.

This February, choose connection over chaos. 🤍

There’s a quiet confidence that comes from understanding pleasure — without pressure, performance, or awkwardness.

The Art of Giving is a shame-free, sex-positive workshop for women who want to feel more informed, more confident, and more at ease when giving pleasure.

No explicit demonstrations.
No oversharing.
No “doing it right.”

Just education, presence, communication, and choice — held in a supportive room of women who are arriving with similar curiosity.

If you’ve been interested but unsure… this is your sign to trust that nudge.
