Sometimes the things we call “normal” are actually signs that our mental health needs more attention. Constant exhaustion. Racing thoughts. Irritability. Pulling away from people. Staying busy so you don’t have to think. Pushing through because you’re still able to function.

You can be getting through the day and still be struggling. Pay attention when changes in your mood, sleep, thoughts, energy, or relationships start becoming your new normal. You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out for support.

At Bright Stone Psychiatry, we’re here to help you understand what you’re experiencing and determine the next steps toward feeling more like yourself again.

Sometimes anxiety isn’t responding to what’s happening, it’s responding to what your brain thinks might happen.

Your body’s stress response is designed to protect you. But when that internal alarm becomes too sensitive, everyday situations can trigger racing thoughts, a pounding heart, muscle tension, difficulty concentrating, or the feeling that something is wrong even when you’re safe.

Anxiety disorders are treatable. Treatment may include therapy, medication, lifestyle support, or a combination tailored to your individual needs. Visit BrightStonePsychiatry.com 🌞

Mental health care isn’t only for moments of crisis. You don’t have to wait until you’re completely overwhelmed, unable to function, or at your breaking point to reach out for support.

Sometimes seeking help looks like noticing that you haven’t felt like yourself lately. Sometimes it’s recognizing that anxiety is interfering with your everyday life. Sometimes it’s realizing the coping strategies that once worked aren’t working anymore.

Therapy, psychiatric care, medication management, and other forms of mental health support can help before things become unbearable.

Early support matters. Your mental health is worth addressing now, not just when it becomes an emergency. 💚 Schedule your appointment at BrightStonePsychiatry.com

Sometimes you were okay before you tried to save everyone else. You listened. You worried. You tried to fix it. You carried their pain home with you. And somewhere along the way, their crisis started becoming your stress.

Compassion is beautiful, but absorbing someone else’s emotions isn’t the same as supporting them.

You can love people without carrying what belongs to them. You can listen without taking responsibility for fixing it. You can support someone without sacrificing your own peace.

Sometimes protecting your mental health means recognizing the difference between being there for someone and becoming emotionally consumed by what they’re going through.

You are allowed to care and still have boundaries.

As fall schedules fill up with work, school, family responsibilities, social commitments, and end-of-year goals, it’s easy to keep saying “yes” without considering what those yeses are costing you mentally.

Before adding one more thing, ask yourself:
Do I genuinely have the time and emotional capacity for this?
Am I saying yes because I want to, or because I feel guilty saying no?
What will I have to sacrifice to make room for it?

Setting boundaries isn’t selfish. Protecting your time and energy can be an important part of managing stress, preventing burnout, and caring for your mental health.

Sometimes the healthiest answer is simply, “I don’t have the capacity for that right now.” 💛

Su***de prevention starts with awareness, but it cannot end there. In 2025, su***de remained one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Behind these statistics are real people, families, friends, coworkers, and communities.

This Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, we encourage you to:

• Check in with the people you care about
• Take changes in behavior or concerning statements seriously
• Listen without judgment
• Encourage professional support when it’s needed
• Remind others that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness

A conversation may not solve everything, but it can remind someone that they don’t have to face what they’re experiencing alone.

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Check on your strong friends, too. 💚

The ones who always show up.
The ones everyone calls for advice.
The ones who rarely complain.
The ones who seem to handle everything.

Being dependable doesn’t mean someone never feels overwhelmed. A person can continue working, caring for others, meeting responsibilities, and showing up with a smile while still experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or emotional exhaustion.

Sometimes the people who ask for the least support are the easiest to overlook. This Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, make the call. Send the text. Ask how they’re really doing, and give them space to answer without immediately trying to fix it.

Sometimes the person checking on everyone else is waiting for someone to check on them. 💚

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

“I’m fine” doesn’t always mean everything is okay. Emotional distress doesn’t have one appearance. Someone can show up to work, laugh with friends, take care of their family, meet deadlines, and seem completely “normal” while privately struggling.

Sometimes “I’m fine” looks like staying constantly busy. Sometimes it looks like withdrawing from people you love. Sometimes it sounds like “I’m just tired.”
And sometimes, there are very few outward signs at all.

During Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, remember that we can’t always tell what someone is carrying simply by looking at them. Check in. Ask again. Listen without judgment. And take concerning changes or statements seriously.

If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Visit BrightStonePsychiatry.com to schedule an appointment 🌞
