✨ Description:
Immigrant children and adolescents often carry complex stories of displacement, separation, trauma, and resilience. Traditional talk-based immigration evaluations may miss critical symbolic and developmental expression—especially when trauma, language, or culture shape how stories emerge.

This training introduces sandtray as an ethical, trauma-informed tool for forensic immigration evaluations. Participants will learn how symbolic play supports emotional safety, enhances clinical understanding, and strengthens evaluation integrity while honoring each child’s dignity and lived experience.

🎯 Learning Focus:
• Identify ethical roles and responsibilities in forensic immigration evaluations
• Integrate sandtray interventions into trauma-informed evaluation processes
• Recognize how symbolic play informs clinical impressions and reports
• Apply developmentally appropriate approaches with immigrant youth

🌟 Presenter Spotlight:
Natasha Prosperi is a bilingual Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™, Registered Sand Therapist, and EMDR Consultant. Born in Venezuela and now practicing in Houston, she brings deep clinical and cultural expertise to her work with immigrant families. Her integrative approach combines attachment theory, EMDR, sandtray, and expressive therapies to support healing, dignity, and meaningful clinical evaluation.

Many sands. Many stories. One shared ground for healing.
