Today, we officially celebrated the expansion of our innovative Virtually Integrated Care℠ (VIC) program at St. Luke's Health - Sugar Land Hospital!

We held a ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the addition of 32 Medical-Surgical VIC-enabled patient rooms, bringing the hospital's total to 64 rooms utilizing this powerful virtual nursing model. VIC not only enhances patient safety, but it also speeds up discharges, streamlines workflows, and provides vital support to our bedside teams and their patients.

Our VIC program utilizes in-room Virtual Care Delivery Platforms to connect patients with Virtual RNs who handle administrative tasks, routine monitoring and patient education, allowing bedside nurses to focus on direct, hands-on clinical care. This strategic approach elevates care, improves communication, and supports our dedicated nurses.

"The continuous positive feedback from our staff and the tangible benefits we’ve seen in patient safety and experience have been truly remarkable,” said Sharon Dudley, Chief Nursing Officer at Sugar Land Hospital. “This expansion is a testament to the success of VIC in empowering our bedside nurses and elevating the standard of care we provide.”

Our award-winning Virtually Integrated Care℠ (VIC) model has expanded into our Critical Care units at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center! This groundbreaking move means our dedicated Critical Care nurses now have virtual RN partners to assist with crucial tasks, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the complex, hands-on care their patients require.

With 78 VIC-enabled beds across our hospital, including the first Critical Care VIC program in CommonSpirit Health, we're setting a new standard for nursing support and patient experience. As Celso Silla III, VP of Patient Services - Critical Care Services, affirms, "It's a true partnership that elevates both patient safety and nursing satisfaction."
