DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR VOWS SERIES #1? — “FOR BETTER, FOR WORSE”
It is easy to love each other in the “better.” Better finances. Better health. Better moods. Better circumstances.
But marriage vows also anticipated the “worse.” Let’s not forget that! There comes a time in a couple’s lives when they may experience disappointments, setbacks, misunderstandings, losses, unexpected changes, and difficult seasons. When we said, “for better, for worse,” we were making a commitment that our love would not be dependent ONLY on favorable circumstances.
It means: “I will not only celebrate the good seasons with you; I will stand with you when life becomes tough and challenging.”
Two-Gether For Ever marriages are not marriages that never experience hard seasons. They are marriages in which two people keep choosing to face those seasons TOGETHER. Sometimes the challenging season isn't caused by your spouse—it is simply something the two of you must walk through together.
Don't turn against each other when you should be fighting the problem together.
💞 COUPLES' QUESTION: When your marriage encounters a difficult season, do you turn toward each other—or away from each other?
❤️ TODAY'S CHALLENGE: Look at your spouse and say: “Whatever season comes, by God's grace, we will face it together.”
👇🏽 LET'S TALK: What has helped your marriage remain strong during a difficult season?
Love Always,
