Mom here….

If you’re dealing with an illness that leaves scars and marks I want you to remember those are WAR WOUNDS and you are a WARRIOR!! Zaydas Dr felt so bad about having to cut where her tattoo was. He didn’t want to mess it up. Funny thing is that tattoo is in memory of her best friend Emmanuel who was also a kidney warrior. If he was here I can hear him say “it’s ok Momma Z, she’s just fighting for the both of us. It’s OUR war wound”
So don’t feel sad when you see something new. Remember that’s another battle you won!!

I love you kid!!

Doctor said her arm looks really good. All went well. He was able to clean up her chest catheter. We’ve been nervous about messing with it because of the bleeding before but thankfully there was no more bleeding.
So now she’s getting dressed and headed home to a well deserved nap!!

Finally caught up with her. She’s in some pain but she’s ok. Still waiting to hear from the Doctor. He has back to back cases today but atleast I’m with her finally.

Good Morning from the museum/medical district!! We just said our prayers and we would appreciate yours. The time has come to start working on a new access. It’s sad to see the other one go but we’ve had about 11-12 years from it and she’s tired.
New access will be in the right forearm. Why you ask? Because it’s gives us the ability to go higher if needed one day before we have to access the groin. Which we don’t want. This surgery should take over an hour and while he’s in there he’s going to do some cleaning up on the chest catheter because she’s acting like a toddler on a mission!!
You know the routine…updates as I have them!!

A quick update on Zayda. She was admitted last night. It wasn’t one of our better visits at HCA Healthcare but we’ll follow Dr Oul anywhere. They finally got the bleed to stop after two pressure bandages. She got dialysis this morning and sent home. I know she is EXHAUSTED!!
The last message I got from her was “I’m going to try to go to church tomorrow. I might be a little late but I’ll try”
Shout out to those who are battling things we can’t see and still make a point to praise God! Hang in there!!

Just when I thought I was done for the day….
Mom again. Zayda got home and her catheter has continued to bleed. She has this happen in Alabama so I’m hoping just a good pressure dressing will do it. She just made it back to the hospital and we’ll see what’s next!

Mom again….
Dr just came out and all went well. Still a little bit till I can see her. She’ll go home today. We discussed some options for moving her dialysis access and what we can do with the current one. We originally had thought Monday would be the surgery date but he’s pushing it back a little and as we know more we’ll let you all know. Thank you all for following our journey and keeping us in prayer!!

Good Morning FB!!!

It’s Mom coming live from the hospital!! I’m delirious from sleep deprivation so good luck to you all!
Zayda and I just said our prayers and went our separate ways. Today is a chest catheter so she can have a dialysis access since her “good arm” is running out of steam. As always I will be here to update and obviously provide today’s shenanigans!!

Thank you for being here for my baby and enjoy the ride!!

Hi everyone it’s Zayda I don’t even know how to start this so my dialysis arm is finally saying goodbye I’m not ready at all trust me I’ve been crying all day long tomorrow I get a chest catheter and Monday I will get a new av fistula trust me I’m not ready but knowing god will be there by my side every single way makes it so much better even though I’m going to miss my best friend through the bad pokes through the good ones I’m forever going to miss it I’ve had a long time with it and I’m truly blessed and forever grateful for it keeping me alive but it’s time for a new chapter in life so please send prayers I’m definitely going to need them is week thanks everyone-Zayda
