Happy Birthday Holistic Heritage Homebirth!

We are thrilled to share this with you all. Holistic Heritage Homebirth has happily welcomed 250 precious babies. These are the outcome statistics for those births. In a nation where c-section rates stay above 30% and VBAC success is disheartening, we are quite proud of our outcomes.

What does this herbalist/doula do when her baby has a fever???

First things first: Cuddles of course! Then I’ll do nothing. Fevers are our bodies natural defense against most common illnesses. If the fever seems to a.) rise extremely high (number will vary depending on age) OR b.) be accompanied by signs of discomfort, I will begin measures to reduce his fever and make him comfortable. This could be using ice pops or cool compresses/baths to reduce his temperature, using herbal preparations such as teas/baths/tinctures/elixirs/steams, or attempting to hydrate and nourish him. And if all else fails, I do have children’s fever reducer on hand, but I can’t tell you the last time I’ve actually used it.
