CPPC Guatemala 2026 Day 7 - Post by Korinne
This week we have had the privilege of sharing life with the people of Tzancoral. Whether it be working, playing with the kids, joking with the workers, or anything in between, it has been so evident that the love of God was pouring out of every person we encountered. Today was an extremely beautiful and uplifting day but also probably the hardest emotionally of the whole trip. After finishing the roof we decorated the house with balloons, pine needles, and chalk drawings before celebrating Lyda, Misael, and Machelle and dedicating their new home. It was a special time reflecting and sharing how grateful and blessed we were for the time we’ve spent together and the relationships that we’ve built. After the dedication we got to treat the village to a “movie theater” experience with popcorn, a slideshow of pictures, and the David movie. After the movie we had some emotional ‘see you laters’ and shared lots of hugs, laughs, and cries. While it’s always hard to leave it also reminded us all of how special our continuous relationships with the people of Tzancoral are. Once we said our goodbyes we headed back to house of healing, making a pit stop at the coffee co-op to learn about coffee roasting and pick up our coffee bean orders. At the house of healing we were treated to another amazing meal and got to meet another team from Texas who will be starting work tomorrow. Tomorrow starts the beginning of our exploration around more of this beautiful country and we’re really excited for our adventures ahead.
