As we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating residents, we're proud to begin with J. Matt Helm, MD. As he completed his orthopedic surgery residency, Dr. Helm reflected on the people who supported him every step of the way.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank my wife, Lauren. My life partner and my home. This achievement is just as much mine as it is yours. Thank you for your love, your patience, and for being there every single day through the highs and the lows. I love you and Sophia with all my heart."
He also thanked his parents, Chip and Cyrilla, for the sacrifices they made, the opportunities they provided, and the values they instilled in him.
To Lisa and Michael, he shared his appreciation for their unwavering support, adding, "It truly does take a village."
Congratulations, Matt, on graduating from residency. We look forward to seeing all you'll accomplish as you continue your training in the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.
