nships (i.e. I have done this through individual therapy, couples therapy, marriage counseling, family therapy, and play therapy. My training and experience includes utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), Play Therapy, and Sandtray Therapy. My background is in psychology research (I co-authored two research articles published in scientific journals, one on anxiety sensitivity and caffeine, the other on mental health effects of COVID), I presented anxiety and caffeine research in Denver, CO at the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) Conference, and have studied philosophy extensively in college and on my own (particularly in the fields of consciousness, existentialism, and ethics). I occasionally peer review psychology manuscripts in my spare time, partly to keep my mind sharp and partly to continue building a healthy practice of skepticism. I have also administered psychological tests for intelligence, ADHD, autism, and personality. My experience also includes years of su***de risk assessment and safety planning. Some more personal things about me are that I am constantly seeking learning through research, reading, and various forms of study in topics ranging from quantum physics to philosophy. I love finding out more things about the world and about the second most important thing I love doing, is watching movies. I love digging deep into movies no one has ever heard of, to explore the unknown.

We know subjectively that time can go by faster or slower.

The speed of time changes depending on our state of mind and what is affecting our mind (i.e. mental illness, substances, medical conditions, perceptions).

We know that perceptions are not always crystal clear and can be influenced by our beliefs, thoughts, mental health, and any biological factors affecting our brain. Since time is a type of perception, it could be argued that time can also be influenced by at least some of the factors that influence perception.

The more we know about ourselves, the more confident we will become because we will stop questioning how we should react or behave in certain situations.

We stop questioning how we should act or behave because if we know ourselves very well, we will already know how we will react. Only then do we become stable and secure.

The more self-knowledge we obtain, the less we question our actions.

Something that opened my mind about worry was hearing a saying that 95% of our problems only exist in our mind while the last 5% exist in the real world and have real-life consequences. While I do not think this may apply in every situation, I do find that most of the things we worry about in the future are things that do not end up actually coming true.

The trick is finding a way to prove this to your mind, after which, freedom from worry can follow. This means knowing that most of the bad things your mind tells you will happen, are not likely to come true.

Almost all negative thoughts can be traced back to something deeper. Core beliefs often drive our thoughts and emotions, without us realizing it.

For example, if Fred has a core belief that he's a failure, then the next time a test comes up, he will be more likely to feel the dread of anxiety and be less likely to study effectively for the test. As anxiety increases, the chances of doing well on the test decrease. After failing the test, Fred feels defeated and decides not to bother with studying as much for the next one...

If Fred has a new core belief that he is not a failure, the next time a test comes up, Fred will be more motivated to study. If he doesn't do as well on a test, he will think, "I tried my hardest, and I can try again next time." Instead of feeling defeated, Fred feels determined to find a solution.

"Defeated" leads to more defeats. "Determined" leads to increased chances of success.

Changing core beliefs may just change potential future outcomes.
