MAMA BEARS & LGBTQIA FRIENDS AND FAMILY! THIS IS MY LAST CALL for anyone who is either female identifying (cis, trans, gender fluid, gender q***r, nb, & agender) or male identifying who was assigned female at birth & used to celebrate mother's day as a "mother" before transition to talk on film for a mother's day event piece on my channel, Q***r & Disabled. The piece is freeform and not overly structured so each participant can give their own unique perspective & story without being too cookie cutter. Below are some things I've asked in interviews so far but the more the merrier! It's meant as a piece to celebrate the amazing suppport from mother's of LGBTQIA+ kids, my goal for the piece is for parents of LGBTQIA+ children, regardless of age, see how other parents super their kids, especially parents who are struggling with their child coming out.
Topics (these obviously change from person to person but these are typically the ones I asked most often along with adaptations)
Your perspective and initial feelings when your LGBTQIA+ child came out
Your perspective and feelings after your child came out.
How you processed your child coming out
How you supported your child coming out
How you came around to support your LGBTQIA+ cold after they came out
How you came out to your family (kids, SO)
Advice to parents who's kid came out
Adapting mother's day both personally and as a family
Any others you've you would like included in happy to do so. We can record over Skype or you can film yourself and I'll setup a folder for you on the Q***r and Disabled Dropbox. If you live in Houston, we can meet somewhere or I can come to you to record.
Feel free to email me at daq***[email protected] for any questions
Thanks!
(There will be a father's day one next month that will be similar to this one, so if you know any dad's interested, let me know!
