Just wanted to send a quick thank you to those who showed up last night to the Speaker Series!! We had about 15 people that came out!!
When you have a true passion for something sometimes the emotions behind it is hard to hide I think that’s a beautiful thing. The work we do the community we serve and the people we support mean more to me then I always can put into words.
Thank you for showing up and sharing Paul’s journey of recovery with the EC team.
We look forward to the next speaker series and hope to see more people there!!!!

Honoring and remembering our loved ones today and always. ❤️

Honoring and remembering our loved ones today and always. ❤️

Behind every statistic is a person.

In 2025, approximately 70,000 people in the United States died from drug overdose. Each person was someone loved, valued, and missed by family, friends, and community.

On this International Overdose Awareness Day, we:

Honor people who have died from overdose
Support people affected by substance use, treatment, and recovery
Share resources that can help prevent overdose
Strengthen communities through education, compassion, and action
Twenty-five years on, overdose awareness is still needed. Together, we can help prevent overdose and save lives.

In recognition of Recovery Month this September, the Livingston County Substance Use Disorder - Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Workgroup of the Human Services Collaborative Body is proud to announce a calendar of events and activities aimed to promote recovery from substances.

Each September, the workgroup works collaboratively to host events to foster connection, educate, and encourage conversations that recovery from substances is possible and that help and support is available. There are a variety of events for different age groups and interests.

“We are excited to share these events with the broader community to share that recovery happens everyday in our community and that there are resources available.” You don’t need to be alone in the disease or dealing with it, we recover together. Come and enjoy some or all of our events this month!” states Lou Ann Lathrop, SUD Workgroup Chair.

All events during Recovery Month are free and open to the public, no registration required. Additional event details and the event calendar can be found by visiting the SUD Workgroup website at: https://milivcounty.gov/hscb/substance-use-disorders-treatment-prevention-workgroup/
