Closing Teacher’s Appreciation Week with my first post because honey, I DESERVE! 🤣

Shout out to all the teachers and educators out there. Whether your classroom is physically at a school, being held virtually, or you’re a homeschool parent like myself, take a moment to pat yourself on the back.

Always remember on the toughest days that you impact the hearts and minds of someone. Trust in the fact that on days when everything doesn’t get crossed off the to-do list, that a little bit plus a little bit eventually adds up to a lot.

Recently, I had to have “the talk” with myself…

You know those heart to heart pep talks where you have to remind yourself who you are, what you’re capable of, and just how much you matter.
⠀
It’s easy to let fear talk us out of living our purpose and full potential. It can be second nature to put others first so often that we forget to take care of our own needs. And it’s also becoming too common to associate being humble with shrinking ourselves (those two things are NOT the same).
⠀
💬The reality is fear and courage are parallel with each other, so push through and live out your purpose- we’re all here for a reason. 💪🏾

💬Pour into your own cup so much that it overflows. What’s in the cup is for you, the overflow is for everyone else. 🧘🏾‍♀️

💬We’re literally made with the same matter of stars, so never dim your light! ✨

💬At times people will forget your worth, but it’s essential that you never do. 🙏🏾

This was a fun experiment using common items around the house (dish detergent, yeast, water, food coloring, and peroxide). Lots of tutorials can be found on Pinterest/YouTube if you want to give it a try. We turned it into an entire math, science, and ELA lesson which is always a win for us homeschool parents looking to squeeze every ounce of teachable moments in an activity 😂.

A boy, a rainy day, and a boundless imagination makes the perfect trifecta for a fun day indoors.

My son is able to see so much of himself in this book, which is why it remains one of our favorites and always finds its way into rotation on a rainy day like today! And shout out to the parents who will be cleaning up the rainy day activities- I see you, I know you, I am you!

🔬 Raising Little Scientists 🔬
Today is International Day of Women & Girls in Science. While I don’t know exactly what this little one will grow up to be, I want to be able to give her the room to explore, let her know that no question is too silly to ask, and provide her with the tools to experiment, seek out answers to her theories, and feed her curious mind.
