Huntington’s bus history goes back nearly a century, when C. S. McMullen first began carrying passengers between Huntington and Lufkin by horse and buggy, later expanding service by bus to Zavalla and Beaumont. By the late 1920s, the route was active as the Lufkin-Beaumont Bus Line, and historical records show it continuing under the Lufkin-Beaumont Motor Coaches name into the 1940s and early 1950s. This small local service helped connect Huntington to the wider region and is an important part of our transportation history.
