09/19/2026

How many things in your life are currently sitting under:

“One day…”

One day I'm going to take that trip.

One day I'm going to learn Spanish.

One day I'm going to wear that.

One day I'm going to take a class.

One day I'm going to decorate my bedroom the way I actually want it.

One day I'm going to go to that restaurant.

One day I'm going to start painting again.

One day I'm going to take myself somewhere nice.

One day. One day. One damn day.

😂

And somehow “one day” has been sitting on the calendar for six years without a date.

Here's the problem:

We tend to treat living like something we're going to get around to once everything else is handled.

When work calms down.

When the kids don't need me as much.

When I lose weight.

When I have more money.

When the house is finished.

When somebody can go with me.

When I feel more confident.

When life isn't so busy.

Baby...

life is probably going to keep life-ing.

😂

I'm not telling you to drain your savings and book a month in Greece because you saw a Facebook post.

Please don't have your lights disconnected talking about:

“Lela said choose me.”

I said no such s**t. 😂

I'm talking about finding the version you can do now.

Can't take the big vacation yet?

Take a weekend somewhere.

Can't afford the expensive class?

Find a beginner class at the community center.

Don't have somebody to go to the restaurant with?

Table for one still comes with a damn chair.

Waiting until you lose weight to wear cute clothes?

Buy clothes for the body currently paying these bills.

Want to start a garden but don't have the yard?

Grow some herbs in a window.

Stop making the only acceptable version of something so big that you can't do any version of it.

TRY THIS:

Pick ONE “one day” from your life.

Then ask:

“What's the version of this I can do in the next 30 days?”

Put a date on it.

Because “one day” isn't a plan.

It's a holding area.

And some of your s**t has been sitting in there long enough.

😂

You don't have to wait for your whole life to change before you start living some of it.

I bought some nice-ass candles and apparently decided they were too nice to burn.

Explain that s**t to me.

Bought them because they smelled good.

Took them home.

Put them on display.

And then proceeded to protect them like they're part of the family inheritance.

“Don't light that one. That's my good candle.”

Bitch...

IT'S A CANDLE. 😂

And don't get me started on:

the good perfume,

the pretty glasses,

the expensive lotion,

the outfit we're “saving,”

or those fancy dishes somebody has had since 1998 that apparently require the damn governor to come to dinner before we can use them.

I'm getting out of that habit.

I bought the s**t because I liked it.

I'm using it.

Tuesday is an occasion.

Sitting on my own couch is an occasion.

Pouring myself a drink because I survived another meeting that should've been an email is a mo*********ng occasion. 😂

Light the candle.

Wear the perfume.

Drink out of the pretty glass.

We ain't running a museum.

What do you own that you've been “saving” for absolutely no damn reason?

Stop volunteering explanations nobody asked for.😂I caught myself doing this before.Somebody asks:“Can you come Saturday?...
09/19/2026

Stop volunteering explanations nobody asked for.

😂

I caught myself doing this before.

Somebody asks:

“Can you come Saturday?”

And instead of simply saying:

“No, I can't.”

Here comes the damn documentary.

“Well, I have to do this first, and then I promised so-and-so, and I've been tired because work has been crazy, and Sunday I have to—”

Ma'am.

They asked if you could come Saturday.

😂😂

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us learned that no wasn't enough unless we could prove we had a good reason.

So we present evidence.

We build a case.

We call witnesses.

We submit supporting documentation.

All because we said:

No.

Here's something to practice:

“No, I can't make it.”

Then...

SHUT UP.

😂

Don't rush in to fill the silence.

Don't start explaining because their face changed.

Don't invent an emergency so your no feels more acceptable.

Just let the sentence sit there.

And listen—I am not saying never explain yourself.

Sometimes context matters.

Sometimes you want to explain.

Sometimes the relationship deserves more than three words.

I'm talking about that automatic little panic that says:

“Quick! Give them a reason so they don't think you're a bad person!”

That's the s**t we're practicing putting down.

Your no doesn't have to survive a damn courtroom.

Try it this week.

One clean no.

No essay attached.

Then come back and tell me how many times you almost added:

“Because…”

😂

Sometimes you're waiting for a conversation that ain't coming.

An apology.

An explanation.

An admission.

Somebody finally saying:

“You were right. I was wrong. I hurt you, and I understand exactly what I did.”

Baby…

You might be waiting until Jesus comes back, and we ain't even running that kind of page.

😂

Sometimes people never explain themselves.

Sometimes they explain themselves and the explanation is bulls**t.

Sometimes they apologize but still don't understand.

Sometimes they understand perfectly well and just don't give you the answer you wanted.

And sometimes you finally get the conversation you've replayed in your head 400 times…

and it doesn't make you feel any damn better.

That's the part nobody tells you.

Closure isn't always something another person gives you.

Sometimes closure is information you already have.

They did it.

It hurt.

You addressed it.

Nothing changed.

That is information.

Sometimes closure is accepting:

“I may never understand why.”

And deciding you don't need to understand every damn detail before you decide what happens next.

ASK A DIFFERENT QUESTION

Instead of:

“Why did they do this?”

Try:

“What did their behavior show me?”

Instead of:

“When are they going to apologize?”

Try:

“What do I need whether they apologize or not?”

Instead of:

“How do I make them understand?”

Try:

“What if they never understand?”

And here's the big one:

“What decision can I make with the information I already have?”

Whew.

Because sometimes you've got enough information to move forward.

You just don't like the information you got.

That's different.

You don't have to pretend it didn't matter.

You don't have to forgive on anybody else's schedule.

You don't have to slap a pretty lesson on some ugly s**t.

But you also don't have to leave the door to your life cracked open forever waiting for somebody else to come back carrying the perfect final sentence.

Sometimes you close the damn door yourself.

❤️

Lay It Down, Baby™

Closure can be a conversation. It can also be a decision.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but...

You are allowed to change your damn mind.

I don't care if you were excited about it six months ago.

I don't care if you told everybody you were gonna do it.

I don't care if you already bought the planner, made the Pinterest board and announced that s**t like a press conference. 😂

Sometimes you get closer to something and realize:

Oh. I don't want this anymore.

That's information.

Not failure.

And baby, I have stayed committed to some s**t WAY too long simply because I didn't want to look inconsistent.

Meanwhile my whole spirit was sitting there like:

“Girl...we don't even LIKE this.”

😂

Changing your mind because you're scared is one thing.

Changing your mind because you've learned more, grown, or simply don't want the same thing anymore?

That's allowed.

You don't owe an old decision the rest of your damn life.

You are allowed to want something different now.Even if you used to swear you wanted it.That's it. That's the post.Okay,...
09/16/2026

You are allowed to want something different now.

Even if you used to swear you wanted it.

That's it. That's the post.

Okay, I'm lying. Y'all know I have more s**t to say. 😂

Sometimes we stay loyal to decisions made by a woman we aren't anymore.

She picked the career.

She chose the lifestyle.

She made the plan.

She decided what success was supposed to look like.

She said:

“This is what I want.”

And maybe she meant every damn word of it.

Then you changed.

That doesn't make her stupid.

And it doesn't make you flaky.

It means some s**t happened between then and now.

You learned.

You lost.

You loved.

You got disappointed.

You healed some things.

You discovered some things.

You got older and realized peace is sexy as hell. 😂

So maybe you don't want the big house anymore.

Maybe you want to move.

Maybe you don't want the promotion everybody thinks you should want.

Maybe the dream you worked toward for ten years doesn't fit anymore.

Maybe you're ready to start something at 48, 53, 61 or 72 that wasn't even on the original damn plan.

Change the plan.

You do not owe your younger self a lifetime commitment to every decision she ever made.

Honor her.

Thank her.

And if necessary...

Baby, update the damn itinerary.

Have you ever had everything going pretty damn okay...

and your brain said:

“Hmm. This seems suspicious.”

😂

Nobody's mad at you.

Work isn't on fire.

The bills are handled.

Everybody you love is currently minding their business.

You have a quiet afternoon.

Nothing needs fixing.

And instead of enjoying it...

you start looking around for what's wrong.

What did I forget?

Who haven't I called?

What needs to be handled?

What's coming next?

Why haven't they texted?

Did I pay that bill?

Maybe I should check my email.

Girl, SIT DOWN.

😂

Sometimes nothing is wrong.

That's it.

That's the whole damn emergency.

When you've spent years being the fixer, planner, problem-solver and person everybody calls when s**t hits the fan, calm can feel unfamiliar.

So we fill it.

We find something productive to do.

We check on everybody.

We start worrying about tomorrow.

Hell, sometimes we'll resurrect a problem from last Thursday just so our brain has something to chew on.

😂

Here's what I want you to practice:

WHEN NOTHING NEEDS YOU, DON'T INVENT SOMETHING.

Before you go searching for a problem, ask:

Is something actually wrong right now?

If yes—handle what needs handling.

But if the answer is no?

Let no be the damn answer.

Sit outside.

Watch your show.

Take the nap.

Pour the wine.

Read your book.

Laugh with somebody.

Wander around Target looking at s**t you absolutely don't need.

😂

Or do absolutely nothing.

You don't have to use every peaceful moment to prepare for the next hard one.

Sometimes life is okay.

Let yourself notice while it's happening.

TODAY'S PRACTICE

Catch yourself the next time you start mentally scanning for trouble.

Stop and ask:

“Is there a problem right now—or am I looking for one?”

Then if nothing is wrong...

Baby.

Enjoy your damn Tuesday.

❤️

09/15/2026

A lot of grown women don’t have a confidence problem.

We have a self-trust problem.

We know what we think.

We know what we felt.

We know what happened.

Then somebody else reacts badly and suddenly here we go:

“Maybe I was too much.”

“Maybe I misunderstood.”

“Maybe I should’ve said it differently.”

“Maybe I’m being unfair.”

Baby.

Why does everybody else get to be certain while you have to put your own damn experience on trial?

😂

Self-trust doesn’t mean you’re always right.

It means you stop treating your own judgment like it needs a committee.

You can listen.

You can reconsider.

You can apologize when you’re wrong.

But you don’t have to abandon yourself every time somebody is uncomfortable with what you said, chose, or noticed.

Sometimes the growth is not:

“How do I explain myself better?”

Sometimes it’s:

“I said what I meant. I stand by it.”

Whew.

That one takes practice.

But so does everything worth learning.

Grocery shopping when you're hungry should require adult supervision.

Because why did I go in there for:

eggs, butter and paper towels

and come out with:

shrimp,
a cheesecake,
two kinds of cheese,
chips I have never bought before,
some fancy little crackers,
a bottle of wine,
and ingredients for a recipe I saw online one damn time.

Then I get home...

Put everything away...

Sit down...

And remember:

I DIDN'T BUY THE MO*********NG PAPER TOWELS. 😂

Now I gotta go back.

And we both know I'm not coming out with just paper towels.

This is how generational debt begins.

😂😂😂

09/13/2026

Can we kill this idea that one magical morning you're going to wake up and suddenly feel ready to do the scary s**t?

😂

Ready to apply.

Ready to leave.

Ready to start.

Ready to have the conversation.

Ready to go back to school.

Ready to move.

Ready to try again.

Ready to finally do the thing you've been thinking about for the last three damn years.

Sometimes ready never shows up.

You know what does?

Tuesday.

😂

And there you are.

Still nervous.

Still unsure.

Still wondering whether you're making the right decision.

But here's something I've learned:

You can be scared and prepared at the same time.

Those are not opposites.

So instead of asking:

“Do I feel ready?”

Try asking:

“What would make me READY ENOUGH to take the next step?”

Notice I said next step.

Not the whole damn staircase.

IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE JOBS:

You don't have to quit tomorrow.

Update your résumé.

Look at five jobs.

Find out what they pay.

Apply for one.

IF YOU WANT TO MOVE:

You don't need boxes yet.

Research the area.

Check rent.

Look at jobs.

Figure out what the move would cost.

IF YOU WANT TO START SOMETHING:

You don't need a logo, LLC, website, business cards and a damn photoshoot by Friday.

😂

Find out what step one actually is.

IF YOU NEED TO HAVE A HARD CONVERSATION:

Write down what you need to say.

Decide when you're going to say it.

Then stop rehearsing version 642 in your head.

Preparation creates movement.

And movement creates information.

You take one step.

You learn something.

Then you decide what the next step is.

That's how a whole lot of big-ass life changes actually happen.

Not:

“I'm finally fearless!”

More like:

“I'm scared as hell, but I did step one anyway.”

Baby, that counts.

TODAY'S QUESTION:

What's something you've been waiting to feel ready for?

Now ask:

What would READY ENOUGH look like?

Write down one thing you could do in the next seven days.

Not everything.

One damn thing.

Lay It Down, Baby™

You don't need enough courage for the whole journey. You need enough for the next move.
