Trigger point therapy! Let’s talk about it. Trigger point therapy is a massage technique used to break up myofascial trigger points which are capsules and bands in the skeletal muscle tissue. What we common refer to as “knots”. While they may seem simple, they can be tender, restrict blood flow, restrict movement, and cause a lot of discomfort and even injury or muscular tissue death. What you are seeing in the area around the area receiving the trigger point therapy is blood flow returning to tissues that was blocked by the trigger point. This causes little twitches and movements as the blood rushes back in. Generally this is paired with lots of releases and yawns. Miss Nan in the video is probably feeling great after this session❤️

Sometimes plans change in a good way. What started out as a training endeavor turned into something more permanent. We would proudly like to announce the newest member to the Moody Mare Equine Massage team, Violet. We will still be documenting Violet’s training journey and her muscular health journey. She will also appear as the star in many of our future demos!

There are sooo many acupressure points and areas of tension in a horse’s head! Not to mention horses get tmj too! Is your horse a cribber? A chewer? Do they not enjoy taking the bit? Did you just move to a new bit? Do they toss their head often? Do they pin their ears with bit contact? Did they just have dental work with no changes? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we recommend you schedule a session.

Generally you see our massage and stretching services, but recently we decided to take on a couple clients with horse training services as well. Why not start with a mustang! We will be training with musculoskeletal conscious methods and using massage touch desensitization techniques. Progress will be posted here on the Moody Mare Equine Massage LLC instagram and pages.
