The First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course is designed for individuals who want to become certified instructors and teach First Aid, CPR, and AED training programs to workplaces, community groups, schools, childcare providers, healthcare organizations, and the general public.
This comprehensive instructor training program combines online learning with instructor-led training and teaching practice. Throughout the course, instructor candidates learn how to effectively deliver training, facilitate classroom discussions, demonstrate skills, evaluate participant performance, and maintain a positive learning environment. Participants also learn how to follow program standards, manage course documentation, and ensure training is delivered consistently and professionally.
The course focuses on both instructional techniques and course administration. Candidates will gain experience presenting course content, conducting hands-on skills sessions, providing feedback to participants, and managing the responsibilities associated with teaching certification courses. To participate, candidates must meet all current instructor course prerequisites, including holding a current basic-level First Aid/CPR/AED certification or equivalent. Additional requirements may apply based on current program standards.
Successful completion of the course requires completion of all online learning assignments, attendance at the instructor training session, participation in classroom activities, successful demonstration of required skills, and completion of any required teaching assignments. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively teach course content, evaluate participant skills, and manage a training environment.
Upon successful completion, participants earn instructor certification and may be eligible to teach approved First Aid, CPR, and AED courses. Certification provides access to instructor resources, course materials, and the ability to help individuals, families, workplaces, and communities develop lifesaving knowledge and skills.
