The “best” Spectra settings to get more milk??

There’s no magic setting to get more milk and copying someone else’s settings may not work for your body.

Your settings should help you trigger multiple letdowns and remove milk effectively. That takes a little experimenting.

Once you find what your body responds to, you can rinse and repeat.

The goal isn’t perfect settings. It’s learning how your body responds to the pump.

Not necessarily, because breastfeeding and pumping are two completely different skills.

Your baby is not a breast pump. A pump is a robot, and your body may not respond to it the same way especially when your baby has already removed milk first.

Exclusive pumpers can also have more control over how much milk they ask their body to make. By consistently removing more milk than baby needs, they may intentionally or unintentionally create an oversupply.

So don’t compare your pumping output to an exclusive pumper’s. A pump isn’t a measurement of what your baby can get at the breast.

A wearable pump won’t fix your milk supply if you don’t know how to use it effectively.

Breast pumps are robots, and your body may respond differently to each one.

Before relying on a wearable, learn the skills that actually affect milk removal: understanding your letdowns, fl**ge fit, settings, and what effective pumping looks like for your body.

The pump matters, but knowing how to pump matters more.

What can you do while pregnant to set up a good milk supply? 🤔

Pumping MORE in the first 30 days isn’t always better. 👀

There’s so much fear around low milk supply that some moms start pumping or triple feeding “just in case” but overstimulating your breasts can create an oversupply, which comes with its own challenges.

Those early weeks are about supporting the milk supply you and your baby actually need, not automatically making as much milk as possible.

Did you worry about making enough milk in those first few weeks?

Do you need to pump if baby only nurses on one side at night? 👀

If baby is feeding well and your supply is going well, probably not! Let baby do their thing and GO BACK TO SLEEP. 🙌

If you’re working on low milk supply or pumping is part of a triple feeding plan, that answer can change.

Watch the related video for more on triple feeding and protecting your milk supply.
