The Village We Were Meant to Have

There was a time when women learned motherhood by being surrounded by women in all stages of motherhood—elders, mothers, new mothers, mothers-to-be. We learned by listening, witnessing, sharing, and simply being together.

Somewhere along the way, that village was lost.

Our Birth Circles are an intentional attempt to bring it back. 🤍

A sacred, safe, healing space for women in every stage of motherhood to gather, share stories, ask questions, and support one another through meaningful conversation—facilitated by birth doulas, but led by mothers.

Come as you are. There is a place for you in the circle. YOU are the ones with the experience and wisdom to share. 🌙

This months Birth Circle will be held at The Breastfeeding Cafe at Little Falls Library - Thursday, August 27th, 10-12; the topic is “Deep Waters: See Strength”

The August Sturgeon Moon carries themes of endurance, ancient wisdom, abundance, resilience, patience, instinct, and trusting what lies beneath the surface.

“Deep Waters, See Strength” is an invitation to recognize the strength that already exists within each woman.

Pregnancy and motherhood can sometimes feel like deep water: unfamiliar, unpredictable, and occasionally overwhelming. We don’t always know how deep the waters will get or exactly how we’ll navigate them.

But beneath the surface is something powerful:

Instinct.
Wisdom.
Resilience.
Courage.
Strength.

When have you experienced a moment when your intuition told you something before you could explain why?

How has pregnancy changed the way you listen to your body or instincts?

What makes it easier—or harder—to trust yourself?

What advice would you share with others navigating this Motherhood Journey?

We’ll explore these questions and more next week. Join us!

Please join us for our Monthly Birth Circle this Wednesday, 10-noon, at Highwheeler Cafe in For Plain! Pregnant and newly Postpartum moms welcome!

In addition to the doulas who host the group sharing info on the difference between oxytocin and pitocin, we’ll also be focusing our conversation around the “Full Buck Moon” 🌕:

🦌 The Buck Moon gets its name from the time of year when deer begin growing new antlers. Antlers aren’t grown overnight—they emerge gradually, requiring energy, patience, and trust in the process. Much like pregnancy, birth, and motherhood, growth often happens before we’re fully aware of our own strength. At this months Circle, we’ll reflect on the ways we’re growing, adapting, and discovering new parts of ourselves.

* How have you changed since becoming pregnant or becoming a mother?
* What new strengths are you discovering in yourself?
* What challenge has helped you grow recently?
* How are you different today than you were a month ago?

🦌 Strength & Support

Deer don’t grow antlers without nourishment and a healthy environment.

* What helps you feel strong?
* Who has helped carry you through difficult moments?
* What kind of support has been most meaningful during pregnancy or postpartum?
* What support would help you thrive in the coming month?
