The blooms of this Beach Naupaka (Scaevola taccada) were attracting the bees this morning. It’s a neat coastal shrub - its flowers look like half are missing, the fruits can float in salt water for months & still germinate, and pollinators love their half blooms!

The sight of over 30 butterflies on three Scorpion-tail plants stopped me in my tracks. Wow, don’t think I’ve ever seen this many Atala butterflies on a single plant! The pollinators are obviously very attracted to its nectar. I will definitely be planting more in my yard.

Passionflower’s stunning blooms are popping while attracting butterflies to the porch! This gorgeous vine is a host plant to 4 different butterflies you can find here in central Florida: Zebra Longwing (Florida’s official state butterfly), Gulf Fritillary, Variegated Fritillary, and Julia Heliconian.
