PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENTS

New Patient Appointment Arrival Time
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time to complete the registration process. Bring your driver’s license/government ID and insurance cards. If you don’t have insurance, bring proof of household income: tax forms, paycheck stubs, bank statements or MDHHS eligibility forms. Return Appointment Arrival Time
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time to sign in and do any updates in your information that may be needed. Bring a copy of your driver’s license/government ID and insurance cards. Late Arrival
We try our best to see you at the time of your scheduled appointment. If you don’t arrive on time, you may need to wait to be seen (we would have to consider you a “walk in”) or could be rescheduled. Cancellations
If you cannot keep your appointment, use the patient portal, or call 313-561-5100 to cancel. Please cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment if you can, so we can give another patient a time to come in.

Cyclospora cases are still increasing in Michigan, including Wayne County, and the investigation is ongoing. Some residents may be contacted by the Wayne County Public Health team by phone, text, or email. If we contact you, please take a few minutes to answer our questions. Your response helps us identify possible sources of illness and protect the health of our community.

Cyclospora is a parasite that can cause watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, fatigue, bloating, and weight loss. If you have severe or persistent diarrhea, contact your health care provider. Cyclospora can be tested for and treated.

To help reduce your risk:
🥗 Choose whole heads of lettuce instead of pre-cut salad mixes when possible.
🥬 Wash, peel, and cook fresh produce when appropriate.
🧼 Wash your hands and keep fresh produce separate from ready-to-eat foods.
🔪 Clean cutting boards, countertops, and utensils after preparing fresh produce.

Today is a day to stay indoors as much as you can, especially if you have any kind of respiratory, lung or heart issues. Babies and small children are at greater risk too!

If you have to go out:
-limit how much time as much as you can
-wear a N95 mask or at least a KN95 one outdoors

Other things you can do:
-change your furnace filter
-if you have asthma, follow your action plan and have your rescue inhaler with you
-if you smoke, cut back or don’t smoke anything today to reduce stress on your lungs
-if you have a window air conditioner, close off the air vents that bring in air from outside
-if you don’t have air conditioning, there are libraries, community centers, police stations and other places you can go—check your city website or social media pages
-might be a great day for a movie matinee!

Hopefully we get a break later tonight if the winds shift. Be careful out there!
