🎭 More Than Just Costumes...

One of the favorite spots at Grandma Jane's Playhouse is our Dress-Up Corner. 👑🦸‍♀️👷‍♂️👩‍🍳

To kids, it's all about becoming a princess, a firefighter, a doctor, or a superhero for the day. But behind all that fun, something pretty amazing is happening.

✨ Pretend play helps children:
💬 Build language and communication skills
🧠 Strengthen problem-solving and creativity
❤️ Practice empathy by stepping into someone else's shoes
🤝 Learn to cooperate, share, and take turns
🌟 Grow confidence as they create their own adventures

There's no "right way" to play. Whether they're saving the world, running a restaurant, or taking care of a baby doll, they're learning through every imaginative moment.

Sometimes the simplest moments—putting on a funny hat or pretending to make dinner—become the biggest building blocks for growing minds.

💚 Pay Your Age Day – August 7 & 21
🎬 Pajamas & Popcorn – August 15
Wear your favorite PJs, enjoy popcorn, and settle in for a movie showing at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM!

Don't forget:
🧦 Socks are required for everyone in the playhouse (we have them available for $2 if needed!)
☕ Parents can relax with a Lotus, coffee, or snack while the kids play.

🥵 Beat the heat this morning at Grandma Jane's Playhouse! ❄️

It's Pay Your Age Day, so the kids get to play for their age in dollars! 🎉

Come enjoy a cool, clean place to play while the AC is cranked, the coffee is hot, and the Lotus drinks are cold. ☕🥤

Oops... I may have accidentally ghosted our page for a hot minute. 😅

Between running the fireworks stand, keeping the playhouse open (thanks to our incredible volunteers ❤️), and trying to remember things like eating and sleeping, social media took a little vacation.

But we're back! 🎉

We'd love to see you! Come let the kids burn some energy while you enjoy a cold Lotus and a little break.

🎆 Fireworks season is here! 🎆

You may spot me at our fireworks stand this week, but don't worry—the playhouse is still open and ready for fun!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who are keeping everything running while we raise funds to support Grandma Jane's Playhouse. We truly couldn't do it without them. ❤️

If you're out shopping for fireworks, stop by and say hi! And if you need a break from the heat (or a place for the kids to burn off some energy), we'd love to see you at the playhouse. Every visit helps support our mission.

This week is a little crazy, but seeing our community come together—whether that's visiting the playhouse, buying fireworks, or volunteering their time—reminds me why we do this. Thank you for supporting Grandma Jane's Playhouse in so many different ways. 💙

We will be back out there this morning! Our stand is the one on the South end of the HyVee parking lot. The majority of the heavy lifting was done last night, this morning will mostly be putting out signs and such. Anyone wanting to help should stop by or send us a message!

🎆 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🎆

Our fireworks stand fundraiser is almost here, and we could use some extra hands!

📅 TODAY
We're setting up tables, signs, and electrical. Help is welcome anytime this afternoon.

📅 TOMORROW
We'll be doing inventory and setting out the fireworks starting around 6:00 PM.

If you're part of a church youth group, sports team, Scout troop, or other community organization, we'd love your help! We are happy to make a donation to your group in exchange for volunteer time.

🎓 High school students: This is also a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours.

🎇 STAND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The stand will be open:
• June 24 – July 4: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
• July 5: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Whether you can help for an hour, a shift, or several days, every bit of help makes a difference. We will also need extra hands on July 5 to help tear everything down.

All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit Grandma Jane's Playhouse and help us continue providing a safe, affordable place for children and families in our community to play, learn, and connect. Your time directly supports new toys and activities, facility improvements, and keeping our doors open for local families.

We’ll be open until 2pm so your kids can run, play, and be kids — without turning your house upside down. 😉

Grab a Lotus, relax for a bit, and let us handle the mess!
