Sometimes, being the veterinarian means having the hard conversation.

In Episode 23 of Diagnostic Tails, Dr. Amy Armentrout and Dr. Lon Hays talk about one of the less-talked-about parts of veterinary medicine: managing difficult conversations and setting expectations when the answer isn’t always what everyone wants to hear.

Clear communication, realistic timelines, and thoughtful processes can make a tough situation easier for everyone involved, including the veterinary team and the client.

Gino has done it again… 😂

This time he recruited Felix for some serious window-staring and deep thoughts. 🪟🐶

What are they thinking about? Treats? Life? Why the squirrels always get away?

Sometimes, getting answers for your pet’s digestive problems means taking a closer look.

We’re excited to now offer Advanced GI Endoscopy for dogs and cats at Animal Imaging.

Endoscopy allows our veterinary team to see directly inside the GI tract, helping evaluate problems that may remain unexplained after other diagnostic tests. When needed, targeted biopsies can also help determine what’s causing the problem.

Endoscopy may be helpful for pets experiencing:
🐾 Chronic or recurrent vomiting or diarrhea
🐾 Ongoing or unexplained GI problems
🐾 Suspected inflammatory disease
🐾 Ulcers, masses, or other abnormalities
🐾 Suspected esophageal or stomach foreign bodies

And in appropriate foreign-body cases, same-day referral may be available.

Because sometimes, the next step toward better answers is simply being able to see what’s happening on the inside.

✨ Advanced Diagnostics. One Referral. More Answers.

🎙️ NEW EPISODE OF DIAGNOSTIC TAILS!

Imaging Unfiltered: What Every rDVM Should Know

Dr. Amy Armentrout and Dr. Lon Hays are talking shop and this time, they’re talking directly to referring veterinarians. 👇

What can a good clinical exam tell you before the scan? Why can’t we just “image everything”? What actually takes so long during an MRI or CT? And how do you prepare clients for the cost, timing, and sometimes difficult results?

They’re breaking it all down with practical, real-world advice for rDVMs plus a quick-fire round to wrap things up. ⚡️

Meet Rossi! 🐾

Just look at that smile! 😍 Rossi was all smiles during his visit for an MRI. 💙

For tiny patients like Chihuahuas, MRI can provide incredibly detailed images of the brain, spine, joints, and soft tissues that other imaging methods may not fully show. That detailed look can help veterinarians get answers and make a more informed plan for care.

Small body, BIG personality… and an MRI that helps us see the little things! 🐶🔍

Some horses drink from their water buckets.
This guy prefers to play in his. 😂💦

Because apparently, hydration is more fun when you make a splash! 🐴🤣
