On Save a Life Day, we recognize the critical role EMS professionals play on the front lines and the training, preparation, and clinical excellence it takes to save lives every day.

Through the Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP™) program, we’re committed to supporting EMS providers in strengthening decision-making and maintaining critical skills for pediatric situations that are less frequent but high impact. Every scenario, skill check, and hour of training translates to better care in the field.

Because in EMS, seconds matter, and preparation makes the difference.

While we’re proud to support those who respond, we also encourage our communities to be ready to act:

💙 Start CPR
💙 Recognize life-threatening emergencies
💙 Activate 911 without delay
👏 Thank you to all EMS professionals for your dedication, resilience, and commitment to patient care.

Train hard. Stay ready. Save lives.

🚑💙 Happy EMS for Children (EMSC) Day! 💙🚑

Pediatric emergencies may be infrequent, but they require specialized skills, confidence, and readiness when every second counts.

Today, we recognize the lifesaving impact EMS professionals have on children every day. EMS for Children Day, presented by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the National Association of EMTs (NAEMT), and others, highlights the importance of being prepared to care for our youngest patients.

Programs like Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) and the Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Program (PPRP) help agencies strengthen pediatric care through training and evidence-based tools.

This National EMS Week, we proudly celebrate EMS clinicians for the critical, lifesaving care they deliver every day, often in unpredictable, high-pressure environments where expertise, teamwork, and rapid decision-making matter most.
Caring for infants and children in the prehospital setting comes with unique challenges, requiring specialized knowledge and confidence to act quickly when it matters most. In recognition of the vital role EMS professionals play in pediatric care, we’re excited to share that PEPP® (Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals®), 5th Edition, developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, is launching this September.
The updated edition builds on a trusted foundation, offering the latest evidence-based guidance and practical training to help EMS clinicians provide high-quality pediatric care in the field.
As we honor EMS Week, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting EMS professionals with education designed for the realities of their practice, helping strengthen skills, preparedness, and outcomes for children and families when every second counts.
