FMOL Health | St. Dominic is proud to recognize Kristina Horton, BSN, RN, of 6 East, as our most recent DAISY Award recipient. The DAISY Award is an international program that honors nurses who consistently demonstrate extraordinary clinical skill, compassion, and dedication to patient care.

Kristina was nominated by a patient who is also in the nursing profession. The patient credited Kristina with recognizing her serious and rapidly declining condition and taking swift action to ensure she received immediate care.

“I was alone at the hospital, and she made me feel so taken care of, so valued, so safe, and so loved as she worked diligently to assess me while not leaving my bedside,” the nomination said. “She comforted me, kept me informed of my status, and did not make me feel like a burden. I thank the Lord for blessing me with Kristina. She is an amazing example of what the heart of nursing is. Her astute care and human kindness are unmatched. It has changed who I am as a nurse, as I want to be a Kristina to all my patients as well.”

Please join us in congratulating Kristina on this well-deserved recognition and thanking her for the extraordinary care she provides to our patients, families, and colleagues every day.
