Sometimes, support begins with simply being there. đź’ś
We may not always know what someone is carrying, but we can choose to notice, to ask, and to listen. We can create spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest about what they’re going through, without fear of judgment.
Support doesn’t mean having the perfect words or knowing exactly how to fix things. Sometimes, it looks like listening without judgment, checking in again, sitting with someone through a difficult moment, or helping them connect with the support they need. When someone feels seen, supported, and connected, they may feel a little less alone.
Su***de prevention starts with all of us. Together, we can help create communities where people feel comfortable reaching out, asking for help, and knowing they matter.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a suicidal crisis or emotional distress, call, text, or chat 988 for free and confidential support, available 24/7.
