As a Social Worker & children’s trauma therapist, I stand with our clients & students. I see what hate from their own parents, families & communities does to them.

Join us for an interactive workshop on healing-centered education, culturally responsive practices, and building stronger communities for our youth, hosted by After the Peanut, directed by Dr. Natalie Coleman. Our Founder & CEO, Lorraine "Lorena" Guerrero Neumayer will be one of the panelists.

After the Peanut Foundation believes that before students can fully engage in learning — especially in rigorous and high-demand STEAM subjects — they must first feel safe, seen, supported, and connected. Where Healing Leads was created from that belief.

Join us for a bold and interactive community conversation designed to empower educators, parents, mentors, and community leaders who support youth every day. This dynamic panel experience will explore healing-centered education, culturally responsive practices, emotional safety, and strategies for building stronger, more connected communities that allow young people to thrive academically and emotionally.

Featuring powerful voices in education, mental health, and liberation psychology, this event creates space for honest dialogue, reflection, and action.

Whether you work in schools, lead in the community, parent young people, or simply care about the future of our youth, this experience is for you.

In this clip from Herencia Residential & Commercial’s podcast series, “Growing up without water or working toilets,” our founder, Lorraine “Lorena” Guerrero Neumayer, LCSW, CADC, PEL, speaks candidly about growing up in poverty and the realities many families silently navigate every day.

By sharing her story, Lorena highlights how experiences with poverty, instability, and responsibility at a young age continue to shape the way she connects with children and families through compassionate, trauma-informed care.

Thank you again to Ulises Huitron and Herencia Residential & Commercial for creating space for honest conversations that help bring visibility to experiences so many people carry in silence. 💛

Thank you, Ulises Huitron & Herencia Residential & Commercial🫶🏽

“This conversation with Lorena Lorraine Guerrero was powerful.

A lot of people carry pain from childhood without ever talking about it—and hearing how she transformed those experiences into helping others through her therapy practice, “Healing Place,” was honestly inspiring.

Sometimes the people who’ve been through the most become the ones most equipped to help others heal.

A special thank you to Lorena for being willing to openly share such impactful and deeply personal moments from her upbringing. Those conversations aren’t easy to have, and her vulnerability will undoubtedly help others feel seen, understood, and less alone.

Definitely worth watching if you’ve ever struggled, grown through difficult moments, or simply believe in the importance of mental health and community support.

Healing Place's Founder & CEO, Lorraine "Lorena" Guerrero Nuemayer, LCSW, CADC, PEL was honored to have had the opportunity to present alongside Brian Herrera, Latino Policy Forum 's Community Engagement Manager, to the Southwest Suburban Immigrant Project - SSIP and their incredible Parent Mentor Program.

The Parent Mentor Program is a nationally recognized model that empowers parents to support teachers in the classroom while building stronger relationships between schools, families, and communities. Parent mentors play an important role in helping students feel seen, supported, and connected.

Together, Lorena and Brian facilitated a conversation on understanding childhood trauma, including how trauma and anxiety can impact children’s emotional well-being, behavior, learning, and relationships. They also discussed ways families and educators can recognize signs of stress, build supportive environments, and help children navigate challenges with care and compassion.

It was inspiring to see over 60 participants come together for a conversation centered on healing, resilience, mental health, and community support!
