Has anyone ever said something this bloody ignorant and plain dumb to you?
I've been told a few times, what you went through made you. Made me what? Hyper alert all the time? And I do mean hypervigilance with a capital H!
Dysregulated so badly a lot of the time, I'm just a little better at hiding it than I was. Insomnia to the point it's improved and now I get around 2 hours sleep a day. Fatigue, Autoimmune issues. The fear I developed of being in groups of people, eventually, socialising period. It made me isolate when I have needed human connection. The nightmares are a real treat , as are the flashbacks, sometimes full emersion. C-PTSD broke me, I was strong anyway! You're a soldier, you've been through worse.
We still have a long road to travel to attempt to educate people, with the hope that eventually, nobody will have to hear this type of s**t anymore.
If you've experienced this, how did it make you feel? And I'll ask, what did you wanna do?
Thank you to for this one.

Trauma Awareness

There are many different causes of trauma. Each and every single one of us is unique. No two of us had the same upbringing, experiences or environments. What is a crisis to one person may not be to another. Irrespective, you don’t get to choose what is trauma and what isn’t. Understanding can make a world of difference.
