Across many Indigenous cultures, rhythm, drumming, singing, and storytelling have played important roles in ceremony, community, connection, and passing knowledge from one generation to the next.
The drum, in particular, appears in many Indigenous traditions, although its meaning and use differ greatly between Nations and communities. Its steady rhythm can evoke movement, connection, and the natural world.
Sound healing today draws inspiration from many ancient and contemporary sound practices, but it’s important to remember that these traditions belong to the cultures that created and continue to practice them.
At Sound Cascade, we approach sound with curiosity, respect, and an appreciation for the many ways humans have used vibration and rhythm to connect, reflect, and come together.
