Just a reminder: feeling attracted to someone only lasts a maximum of 4 months. If you can go past that time, you're in love. The infatuation stage can last anywhere from 4 months to 1 year. If you exceed that time, it could be said that what you feel is true love.

Attraction is often the spark that first brings two people together. It’s exciting, intense, and sometimes overwhelming. In the beginning, everything feels new and magnetic. You notice the smallest details about them, your heart races when they text or call, and your mind constantly drifts back to them. But this stage is often driven by chemistry and curiosity rather than deep understanding.

As time passes, that initial rush naturally begins to settle. The butterflies may calm down, and reality slowly replaces the fantasy. This is the point where many connections fade, because attraction alone isn’t strong enough to carry a relationship forward. Real feelings begin to reveal themselves when the excitement softens and you start seeing the person for who they truly are.

Infatuation can stretch from a few months up to a year. During this time, emotions may still feel intense, but you're also learning about each other’s habits, flaws, values, and boundaries. The image you had in your mind slowly transforms into the real person standing in front of you.

If your feelings remain steady even after that stage fades, it usually means something deeper has formed. Love isn’t just excitement or constant butterflies. It’s choosing someone even on ordinary days. It’s caring about their wellbeing, supporting them through challenges, and staying when things aren’t perfect.

True love grows through patience, trust, understanding, and shared experiences. It’s not only about how someone makes you feel in the beginning, but how you both continue to show up for each other long after the novelty wears off. When attraction evolves into commitment, respect, and genuine care, that’s when something real begins to exist.

Woman Found Dead After Man Refused to Let Police In During Welfare Check

On March 8, 2026, Hartford police responded just before 7 p.m. to a welfare check at an apartment in the 100 block of Washington Street in Hartford, Connecticut. When officers arrived, they encountered a man inside the residence who initially refused to allow them entry and became aggressive with police.

The victim was identified as 75-year-old Linda Anthony.

Police eventually forced their way into the apartment and discovered Anthony suffering from severe head trauma. She was unconscious and not breathing, and first responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Authorities detained 52-year-old Ottahu Holder, who was inside the apartment when officers arrived. Investigators later identified him as a suspect during the initial investigation.

Holder was arrested and charged with murder and interfering with police. He is currently being held on $1 million bond.

Police have not yet released details about the relationship between Holder and the victim, and investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive for the killing.
