Here are three things that I want you as a client to know about massage therapy.

It makes me sad to think that there are clients who believe that they have no say during their session, they have to feel pain to get benefits, or that their bodies are not beautiful or “perfect” enough to receive massage. These things are simply not true. My hope is that the way I speak to my clients or the questions I pose before sessions will help them feel 100% comfortable in their skin while they are on the massage table.

What other misconceptions have you heard about massage therapy? Have you ever felt like you can’t say anything to your therapist during a session? Let me know!

Facebook doesn’t support a book now button for the software I use yet, so here is the link to book a massage with me at Wellness Warehouse KC in the West Bottoms! :) I really love this location and have been made to feel at home amongst some amazing personal trainers, yoga teachers, and more. I’ve got availability for a few more people next week and I’d love to see you!

Myofascial Cupping is my absolute favorite tool to use in massage sessions. Unlike Traditional Chinese Medicine cupping, this style uses the cups in a dynamic flow that follow the length of the muscle instead of sitting on an acupoint. It's perfect for breaking up adhesions in the muscle that develop over time due to dehydration, stress, poor posture, trauma, etc. Cupping has been a huge part of my recovery from a shoulder and hip injury and is one of my favorite ways to deepen relaxation. It's been super rewarding to hear so much positive feedback from my clients about cupping...makes me that much more excited to continue learning about this amazing modality! Would you try cupping in your massage? Why or why not?
