Sometimes, the most important thing you can do is listen.

When someone shares an experience of exploitation or possible human trafficking, they may already be carrying fear, shame, or confusion.

Instead of asking “Why didn't you leave?”, try asking “How can I help you feel safe?”

Instead of blaming, listen.
Instead of judging, support.
Instead of demanding answers, give them space to speak.

You don't have to be an expert to show compassion. A safe and supportive response can be an important first step toward getting someone the help they need.

Listen. Believe. Don't blame. 💙

⚠️ One sign alone does not confirm trafficking.

The goal is to notice when something doesn't seem right, not to make assumptions. ✅

Notice differently; look beyond the obvious. Possible warning signs may include:

• Someone appearing fearful or controlled.
• Someone who cannot speak freely.
• Another person answering questions for them.
• Unusual restrictions on movement.
• Signs of exploitation, abuse, or neglect.

🤝 Help spread awareness and support prevention efforts.

Human Trafficking Awareness 📣

FAQ: How often should healthcare professionals take the HUMAN TRAFFICKING course?
Answer: It is imperative to check with your state board for your profession’s requirements. Most Texas providers must take an approved human trafficking training course before EACH license renewal. This includes all dental professionals and mental health providers under BHEC.

You don't have to be strong every minute of every day. Sometimes, strength means knowing when to pause, reach out, and take care of yourself. 🌱

Resilience means learning how to:
✨ Adapt to challenges
✨ Recover from difficult moments
✨ Ask for support
✨ Learn from experiences
✨ Keep moving forward

Your wellbeing matters, too. 💙

Healthcare professionals spend their days caring for others, but self-care is just as important.

Try making time for simple things that support your wellbeing:

✔️ Get enough rest
✔️ Take regular breaks
✔️ Move your body
✔️ Stay connected with people you trust
✔️ Make time for things you enjoy
✔️ Ask for help when you need it

Remember: Taking care of yourself isn't selfish; it's necessary.💙
