Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset

At Country Crossroads Counseling, we ask this question a lot:

“Is this a fixed mindset… or a growth mindset?”

A fixed mindset says:
❌ “I’m just this way.”
❌ “I’ll never be good at that.”
❌ “I can’t change.”
❌ “This is just how my life is going to be.”

A growth mindset says:
✨ “I’m still learning.”
✨ “I can try again.”
✨ “I can get better.”
✨ “This is hard right now, but that doesn’t mean it will always be hard.”

Growth doesn’t mean everything suddenly becomes easy. It means believing that you have the ability to learn, adapt, heal, and grow.

So the next time you catch yourself saying, “I can’t,” try adding one little word:

“I can’t… YET.” 💚

Sometimes, changing the way we think is the first step toward changing the way we live.

Grateful for Partnerships That Make a Difference 🩵

For many years, Country Crossroads Counseling has been honored to provide counseling services and staff training to the Veterans Home in Warrensburg. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and for the opportunity to support those who have given so much to our country.

A special thank you to Gage Brookman, LPC, who has been serving this population as a CCC clinician and recently provided a staff training for the Veterans Home team.

Supporting veterans and the professionals who care for them is work we are truly proud to be a part of. 🇺🇸

Some days just feel harder than others. 🫠

And here’s your reminder: you can handle these days, too.

Take care of yourself. Ask for help. Slow down. Do less. Give yourself permission to rest. Talk to someone. Go to therapy. Take a walk. Say no. Do whatever you need to do to take care of you.

You don’t have to have everything figured out today. You just have to take the next step.

Be gentle with yourself. Hard days don’t last forever. 🩵
