Most people have no idea what actually happens during an abdominal ultrasound. So let us walk you through it.

Before you come in, we send prep instructions when you book. No guessing, no day-of confusion about whether you can eat or drink.

When you arrive, check-in is quick. Your sonographer will come get you when it's time. No sitting in a waiting room wondering what's next.

During the scan, a small handheld device is moved across your abdomen with warm gel. That's it. Sound waves create the images. No radiation, no needles, no recovery time needed.

Afterward, your images go to your referring provider or directly to you if you're self-referring. The next steps are between you and whoever is interpreting your scan.

Boy mom. Sonographer. And the heart behind Diagnostics by First Look.

For over a decade, ultrasound has been more than a career. It’s been a calling that’s shaped me from the inside out.

My years in the hospital, working across Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, and Vascular, refined my eye, strengthened my skill, and taught me the quiet responsibility that comes with this work.

The kind that lives in the smallest details. And the moments that matter most.

Moments filled with anticipation, emotion, and everything in between.

Somewhere along the way, this work became deeply personal. Walking alongside a family member through a difficult health journey showed me just how powerful imaging can be between the clarity it brings, the reassurance it offers, and the role it plays in guiding care when it matters most.

That experience, paired with years of hands-on expertise, is what led me to build Diagnostics by First Look.
