Closing out my week in NYC. You will understand this. As Belinda's partner and caregiver atm, I feel guilty for leaving her. I feel I need to protect her. However I will say, Mt. Sinai and Dr. B's staff have been top notch and patient centered. This gives me comfort. So, that is one reason I created this group-for the other side. It is a tough job, but it is rewarding being alongside her. With that being said, She is ahead of schedule and doing well. She is in good hands.

Oh, if anyone is coming to NYC, hit me up. I have some wonderful tips and suggestions. I am including one here: The Hampton Inn, Rockville Centre. Call the number on this card and for Dr. B's patients, you get a discount.

Belinda update: She did well in the surgery. Dr. B was pleasantly surprised, and she bypassed ICU and went straight to a step-down room. Today, she has eaten two meals, and worked with PT. PT got her up and moving with a walker. All in all, a very good 24 hours.

Healthcare practitioners could learn a lot from the age old show "The Golden Girls". Don't hate on me, but I kind of like that show. Reminds me of the time watching it with my grandmother. HERE IS THE THING. In 1989, an episode called "Sick and Tired: Part 2", Dorothy is gaslighted, and dismissed when she presents with "odd symptoms" that could not be figured out. Turns out she has a real diagnosis, and she confronts the doctor. It is a shame that almost 40 years later, people still have to go through the same experience. Interesting it came on while my wife is in surgery.

Have to say that for an EDS patient, Mt. Sinai is top notch and patient centered. Refreshing! We came here in March and now back in June, and both times, exceptional. This is refreshing for the EDS community. Belinda went through the process today smoothly, and I am confident placing her in the hands of Dr. Bolognese and staff tomorrow. If anyone is planning a visit, let me know, I have gathered some great insight on where to stay (Later, I will post a business card for an amazing hotel that gives Dr. B's patients a discount), good places to eat, shop and where to rent a car.
