Guided Pathways - Support for Youth & Families We empower youth and family success, however they envision it. King County, WA We value family voice, family choice.

Youth and families have the right to speak and to make decisions about their behavioral health. Youth and families have the right to know the full range of promotion of wellness and prevention options available to them. Family inclusion is fundamental to a strong and effective system of care. We offer support for families and their children in King County, giving one-to-one parent support to help

guide parents through the System of Care while their child is having difficulty and during recovery from substance use disorders or mental health challenges. We provide youth peer support to guide youth through their hard times and facilitate classes and support groups for both youth and parents. The majority of these services are free of charge. GPS is distinguished from other peer support programs by its primary focus being the parent/guardian rather than the child or youth. This allows GPS to provide family-driven peer support which has shown tremendous success for families and youth. We encourage families and youth to determine their own desired outcomes. They may range from a reduction in suicidal ideation to housing security, from reduced truancy to access to mental health services, from improved parenting to reduction in running away. Our program is strength-based meaning that we help parents and youth identify their strengths and build on them to address their challenges.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Spring Into Wellness community event this past Saturday!

We’re so grateful to our community for coming out and spending the day connecting with us. Huge thanks to Rogers Family Supports for the food and activity as well as to Nothing Bundt Cakes for the beautiful, donated cake. A special thanks to NAMI South King County for sharing mental health resources, and to Peer Kent for coming out to support our community. Thank you also to Jasmine’s family for bringing the fun with bubbles and games, and finally to our amazing team for making it all come together. 💙✨

Do you have lived experience supporting a child, youth, or loved one through behavioral health, substance use, disability, or complex systems of care? Are you passionate about helping other families feel seen, supported, and empowered?
We’re looking for a Peer Support Specialist – Parents + Caregivers to join our growing team in King County! 💙

At GPS, we are a family-driven nonprofit where families help families. Our work is trauma-informed, peer-led, and rooted in hope, advocacy, and resilience.

✨ In This Role You Will:
✔️ Provide one-to-one support to parents and caregivers
✔️ Help families navigate systems like behavioral health, Children’s Administration, CLIP, DDCS, and more
✔️ Connect families to resources and advocacy tools
✔️ Represent GPS at community events and trainings
✔️ Use your lived experience to inspire hope and possibility

✨ We’re Looking For Someone With:
✔️ Personal experience navigating behavioral health systems of care
✔️ Experience caregiving for someone with mental health, disability, developmental, or substance use challenges
✔️ Strong communication skills
✔️ A heart for service, community, and family empowerment
