Today is a great day. ❤️

This sweet senior boy got the second chance he deserves and we got to be part of that chapter!

At 10 years old, he found himself surrendered to Kerr County Animal Control through absolutely no fault of his own. Seniors are so often overlooked, and we knew this handsome guy deserved a soft place to land through his golden years.

Thankfully, Austin Boxer Rescue stepped up immediately and welcomed him with open arms, getting him safely into a foster home where his next chapter can begin. Before heading off on his golden adventure, we made sure he was fully vetted and ready for the good life ahead.

Here’s to love, soft beds, yummy treats and all the happiness that this boy deserves . 🐾

Kimmie’s Korner: Freeman-Fritts April Impact Check-In

April was nothing short of incredible for our team and the animals we serve here in Kerr County. This month, we saw firsthand what dedication and community support can accomplish when it all comes together.

In just 30 days, we:
• Rescued 66 lives
• Found homes or placement for 40 animals through adoptions and partner rescues
• Implanted 101 microchips to help keep pets safe
• Completed 166 spay and neuter surgeries
• Provided 296 instances of community assistance to families and their pets

These numbers aren’t just statistics—they represent lives saved, families supported, and a stronger community.

Behind every one of these efforts is a team that shows up day in and day out, giving their all to make a difference.

Their work often goes unseen, but its impact is undeniable. While a simple “thank you” hardly feels like enough, it means more than you know. So if you happen to see one of our staff members out and about, take a moment to give them a shoutout for their unwavering commitment.

We’re proud of what April brought—and even more motivated for what’s ahead.

😻 Kimmie’s Korner: Keeping Pets Safe, One Microchip at a Time

We are incredibly excited to announce our partnership with H-E-B Cares for the second year in a row—helping us provide FREE microchips for dogs and cats throughout May and June!

These months are nationally recognized to highlight the life-saving importance of microchipping your pets—and here in Kerr County, that message hits especially close to home.

After the devastating floods that impacted our community last year, we saw firsthand just how critical microchips truly are. Families were separated from their beloved furry companions, and in so many cases, a microchip made all the difference—bringing pets back where they belong.

For some families, it even provided something just as important: answers and closure during an incredibly difficult time.

With the generous support of H-E-B Cares, our goal is to microchip at least 325 dogs and cats over the next two months—and we can’t do it without this amazing partnership.

The next time you’re in H-E-B, take a moment to thank their team for being part of something bigger. They truly represent what it means to care for a community.
