Were you meant to be there when your loved one passed?
One of the hardest things people carry after someone transitions is the thought:
“Why wasn’t I there?”
“Should I have been with them?”
“Did they die alone?”
But from a soul perspective, I believe there is a deeper design.
Before we incarnate, our soul has already agreed to certain moments, certain lessons, and certain sacred transitions. Sometimes, we are meant to be present when a loved one takes their final breath. And sometimes, we are not meant to be there — not because we failed them, not because we missed something, but because their soul chose the way it needed to leave.
Death is not random to the soul.
Sometimes a person waits for the one they need beside them. Sometimes they wait until the room is quiet. Sometimes they pass when certain loved ones step away, because their soul knows it would be too painful for them to witness.
So if you weren’t there, please hear this:
You did not abandon them.
You did not fail them.
You were not forgotten.
Their transition unfolded the way their soul needed it to unfold.
Love is not limited by physical presence. The bond between you and your loved one does not end because you weren’t standing beside their bed. Spirit knows your heart. They know your love. And when they crossed, they were not alone.
They were met by love.
They were held by Spirit.
And they know you loved them.
