Still constipated despite trying everything? 👀

If you’ve increased your fiber, you’re drinking plenty of water, you’ve cleaned up your diet, you’ve tried magnesium, supplements, or even constipation medications… but you’re still struggling with constipation, it may be time to look deeper.

One often-overlooked cause is intestinal methanogen overgrowth (IMO).

Methane gas can slow the movement of your intestines, leading to constipation, bloating, abdominal discomfort, and the feeling that nothing is working—because the underlying cause hasn’t been identified.

Instead of continuing to guess, consider getting tested.

Still stuck on the low FODMAP diet after SIBO treatment? 🤔

If you’ve completed treatment but every time you try to reintroduce high FODMAP foods you’re hit with bloating, gas, abdominal pain, or digestive symptoms, don’t ignore it.

One possibility is that your SIBO wasn’t fully eradicated.

So, what’s next?

✅ Retest. The only way to know whether treatment worked is to test again.

✅ Address the underlying cause. Treating bacterial overgrowth is only part of the equation. If the factors that allowed SIBO to develop aren’t identified and managed, symptoms are more likely to return.

✅ Change the terrain. Supporting healthy gut motility and addressing the root causes can help create an environment where SIBO is less likely to persist or recur.

The goal isn’t to stay on a restrictive diet forever. It’s to get back to eating a wider variety of foods with confidence.

👉 GutRemedy offers at-home SIBO breath testing with physician-reviewed results and a personalized treatment plan (Washington State only).

One of our biggest pet peeves… 😤

When someone is told, “You have IBS,” and that’s where the conversation ends—leaving them to spend hours researching online, trying supplement after supplement, and hoping something finally works.

IBS is a syndrome, which means it describes a collection of symptoms rather than identifying a single underlying cause.

For some people, symptoms like bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, or mixed bowel habits may be caused by SIBO which can be evaluated with a home breath test.

You deserve more than hearing, “It’s just IBS.”

👉 GutRemedy offers at-home SIBO breath testing with physician-reviewed results and a personalized treatment plan (Washington State only).

Hydrogen SIBO Treatment: Part 2/2

Let us know your questions or experience with hydrogen dominant SIBO below👇

Remember, SIBO treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. Co-occurring gases, such as methane or hydrogen sulfide, can change the clinical picture and influence the treatment approach. What works for one person can’t always be replicated in another.

🦷 Bad breath isn’t always a dental problem—it can also be a sign of something deeper happening in your gut.

If you have persistent bad breath and symptoms like bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea, SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) may be part of the picture.

The connection goes both ways:
✨ Poor oral health can act as a reservoir for bacteria, potentially contributing to recurrent SIBO after treatment.
✨If bad breath that keeps coming back despite good oral hygiene, it may be worth looking beyond your mouth.

If your p**p looks like deer pellets, your gut may be trying to tell you something. 💩👀

Small, hard, pebble-like stool (Bristol Stool Chart Type 1) is often a sign that stool is moving too slowly through the digestive tract.

Common contributors can include:

✨ Not getting enough fiber
✨ Inadequate fluid intake
✨ Sluggish gut motility
✨ Pelvic floor dysfunction
✨ Methane-dominant SIBO (IMO)

While an occasional Type 1 stool isn’t usually a concern, consistently passing small, hard pellets should be evaluated further.

GutRemedy was co-founded to make SIBO testing and treatment more accessible💚

After caring for countless patients who spent years searching for answers to their chronic bloating, IBS, and digestive symptoms (and experiencing their own journeys with gut health) Dr. Sierra Windsor and Dr. Ellie Adair recognized a gap in care.

Too many people were being told their symptoms were “normal,” waiting months for specialist appointments, or struggling to access testing that could help explain what was going on.

💚 Our mission: transform the way we evaluate and treat digestive health conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) is one of the most common underlying causes of IBS symptoms, yet many people receive an IBS diagnosis without ever being evaluated for it.

Common symptoms of SIBO include:
✨ Bloating (especially after meals)
✨ Excessive gas
✨ Abdominal pain or discomfort
✨ Constipation
✨ Diarrhea
✨ Alternating constipation and diarrhea
✨ Food sensitivities
✨ Brain fog
✨ Fatigue

While not everyone with IBS has SIBO, identifying an underlying cause can help guide more personalized treatment and move beyond simply managing symptoms.
