Methodist Medical Center and Covenant Health were proud to support this year’s Secret City EMS Expo as a sponsor of the fourth annual event. Hosted through a partnership between Anderson County EMS and Y-12 EMS, the two-day expo brought together first responders and healthcare professionals from across the region to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and learn from one another.

A special thank you to MMC’s culinary team, including chefs Dariusz Urbanowicz, Chad Scaife, and Josh Pabian, along with Food and Nutrition Director Ayanle Shimbir, for preparing an outstanding buffet enjoyed by attendees throughout the event.

We also appreciate Methodist's Chief Support Officer Jay Shepherd for sharing our gratitude and appreciation for the EMS professionals who serve our communities every day. Thank you as well to Kayla Qualls and our Stroke Team, along with the Covenant Health Air team, for highlighting the importance of coordinated, life-saving care.

From the moment a 911 call is placed to a patient's arrival at the hospital, strong partnerships between EMS providers, air medical transport teams, and healthcare professionals make a lasting impact. Our recent American Heart Association Gold Award recognitions for excellence in heart care are a reflection of that teamwork and shared commitment to delivering the highest level of care when every second counts.

A heartfelt thank you to our community members, providers, and Methodist Medical Center team members who joined us for last week's Family Birthing Center Open House in observance of World Breastfeeding Month.

Guests had the opportunity to tour our Family Birthing Center, connect with our dedicated care team, and learn more about the services and support available to growing families in our region.

One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of our new staff pumping room, a comfortable and welcoming space created to support breastfeeding employees. Beautifully decorated, private, and spacious, the room reflects our commitment to fostering a workplace that supports the health and well-being of our team members.
