No one tells you how different pregnancy can feel when there’s already someone calling “Mom!” all day long.

There are no lazy weekends or afternoon naps. There are snacks to make, toys to pick up, little bodies to carry, and big feelings to help navigate all while your own body is working around the clock to grow another baby.

I remember this moment so clearly. Leaning over a birth ball for a little relief while my toddler happily climbed on my back. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was real.

If you’re pregnant while raising little ones, I hope you know this: you’re doing an incredible job. ❤️

I struggled a lot with my postpartum body in those early days after having my first baby. I remember looking at the red tiger stripes on my belly and thinking I would never feel confident in my body again… never wear crop tops, never look the same, never fully recognize myself in this new version of me.

And while I’ve come a long way since then, I still have days where it’s hard.

But then I look at my boys.

I think about how much motherhood has changed me, how becoming their mom softened me, strengthened me, stretched me, and transformed me in ways I never could have imagined. And when I think about all of the ways I’ve changed, how could I expect my body not to change too?

So this is your reminder, whether you are pregnant with your first baby or deep in the trenches of motherhood with your fifth:

Your body deserves kindness.

It is okay and normal to have stretch marks and soft spots and curves. These are not flaws to hide or evidence that your body failed you. They are evidence that your body carried life.

Your body did amazing things. And there is beauty in that. 🤍

Let’s talk about one of my favorite tools in my birth bag: ✨The Birth Sling✨

One thing I love about the birth sling is how it supports your body without limiting your movement. And movement is such a key part of helping labor progress.

Instead of holding yourself up or tiring out in different positions, the sling takes some of that pressure off so you can stay more relaxed, more mobile, and more in tune with what your body needs.

Whether you’re leaning, squatting, lunging, or swaying through contractions, the extra support can make those positions feel more sustainable and effective.

You can use it on your own or with a partner or doula. Either way, it’s such a simple tool that can make a big difference in how labor feels.

If you’re prepping for birth, this is definitely something to have on your radar 🙌🏼

Abdominal lift and tuck is another simple, hands on technique that can bring so much relief in labor 🤍

By gently lifting the belly and tucking the hips, you can help create better alignment, ease pressure, and support baby’s positioning during contractions.

We’re also using a birth sling here to support the movement 🙌
Stay tuned for next week as we share more about what that is and how to use it! ✨

Another great hands on comfort technique to add to your toolbox 🙌
Hip squeezes can bring so much relief during contractions by easing pressure and creating more space in the pelvis.

What are your thoughts? Were hip squeezes helpful for you in labor? Comment below!

Sometimes the most helpful things in labor are also the simplest 🤍

Using firm, steady pressure on the sacrum during contractions can help ease discomfort and give mamas a little break in the intensity.

Simple, effective, and such a powerful way for partners to be involved.

Your partner doesn’t have to stand on the sidelines during labor!

With the right positions, they can actively support you through contractions, provide comfort, and help baby move down through the pelvis.

Here are a few partner supported labor positions we love:
• Counter pressure on the birth ball
• “Hug it out” for rest and support
• Hip squeezes during contractions
• Supported squats to open the pelvis

Support makes a difference.

📆 Let’s talk about due dates.

Your due date is a helpful tool for providers, but it’s not a countdown clock that your baby is watching.

Evidence shows that most babies aren’t born on their due date, and there’s a wide, normal range for when spontaneous labor can begin. Especially for first-time parents!

And honestly? As with most things in birth, we can’t always accurately predict what will happen. A big part of pregnancy is learning patience and listening to your body. I always joke, “there’s no way to know,” because… it’s kind of true.

Birth doesn’t run on a calendar. Going past your due date doesn’t mean your body is failing or that your baby is “late.” It usually just means they’re still getting ready 💛
